So I got this alternator from the scrap yard with the hopes of turning it into a motor for an electric lawn mower project. I read up on doing these conversions and watched videos on how to do it. I got down to the stator leads to find there are six leads total. I understand how to identify typical delta or Y configured stators that will have 3 or 4 leads respectively.

I did continuity checks on the leads to try and identify them. The leads circled in green have continuity with each other. The leads circled in red also have continuity with each other. There is NO continuity between any of the leads between red and green.

My theory is that each individual group of leads are in a delta configuration and the phases can be run in parallel or in series with each other. I am uncertain of this and was wondering if anyone else had some insight into what this particular configuration is. Any thoughts?
