I have a 20 inch front wheel golden motor magic pie with internal controller. It up and quit on me. After drilling out four of the screws holding the controller cover on(rusted in ) I did not see any broken wires. That is the extent of my troubleshooting. I hate to toss this in the in the scrap pile. I would like to see somebody make use of it or the parts. I have the throttle, brake levers ,cruise control, and the blue tooth connector. I had it set up at 36 volts, and had about 1000miles on it.This setup is heavy and shipping will be more than I will sell it for. How about $25 plus shipping. Local pickup in Syracuse ny area

Good deal, but...if it doesn't sell...consider the option of running an external controller.

By removing the heat of the controller from the motor housing, the temporary peak amps of this hubmotor is likely doubled.

One thing I really like about these cast wheels is that if you add ATF or ferro fluid/ FF...the entire mass of aluminum in the wheel becomes a thermal sponge to absorb heat-spikes. This again doubles the temporary amp-heat spikes.

The 20-inch wheel has an inherent benefit, and that is its great hill climbing torque due to its small diameter. It is an awesome rear wheel for a DIY Longtail cargo bike.

I recommend using this with 52V and 30A after adding ferrofluid, with a sensorless 6-FET controller. That may seem like a small controller, but when accelerating you will not use max amps for very long due to the 50V X 30A = 1500W in a 20-inch wheel.

The torque will be so much improved, I doubt there would be any felt benefit to 40A

Funny to see someone wanting the little controller inside to be functional. Ive always ripped out the little magic pie controllers first thing before trying it.

Same thing I was thinking, Likely the motor works perfect without the controller

Hello,

I am interested in buying your magic pie. Is this still available? If so, can we contact each other through email? My email address is car36524@gmail.com
