Yes, I can't remember which one was faster, but there was a 2mph difference in top speed.

Slightly off topic.

I've decided to go with the crystalyte motor.

Thoughts on choosing a TC3065 with 26" wheel vs TC3080 with a 20" wheel? Both at 60v, 50a continuous, 70a peak.

I'd like to go up to 40 mph, with great acceleration on the road. Not much off-road use.

I'm considering the Luna 60v 24.5ah triangle pack because I can't seem to find a high quality 72v or higher triangle pack with high quality cells, such as Panasonic GAs.

How long has your bearings lasted?


My freewheel side bearing does not move one bit. Plus it seems about 1mm above plate lip.
17mm x 34.85mm (old battery in micrometer)

I have a MXUS V2 4T laced into a 17" moto wheel running a 20s3p battery and Sabovoton 100A Controller. I have just finished the build and am in the process of testing. I have it running on the stand. Hall sensor angle test good. But when I sat on it and gave it throttle I rolled across my basement but it was pulling around 40 amps at a very slow crawl. I don't think that seems correct. I do weight 200 lbs. That's like 3200 watts and I am barely moving.

If anyone has some insight into what I assume is something I have done incorrectly I would greatly appreciate some help... Best Regards...
 
Wrong phase / hall combination, most likely. See the thread for Determining The Wiring For A Brushless Motor for ways to fix that.

Can I ask how you like the MXUS V2 4T (same as mine) in a 17" moto (I am in 26" bicycle rim)

Honestly I don't know yet. I just put the build together. And then my girlfriend took my laptop for a test prep this week :( I am definitely more focused on torque for the type of riding I do. I don't need range since I am going to be using it on an indoor track. I had a 19" wheel laced in to the MXUS but decided I should build the 17" wheel because its so hard to find motorcross nobbies for the 19 incher. Hopefully I will be able to work out the high amp problem which I am sure is exactly what you said a hall phase combo problem. What type of acceleration do you get w/ yours? What type of tire are you running? How many amps are you pulling w/ ur set up?
 
Have anyone tried to replace the hall-sensors in the mxus? Can i take any hall-sensor or what can i use for a replacement?

I'm testing a controller (SFOC5 in Hall Sensors'b'Gone thread) that needs some specific motor parameter data to set it up:

kV
Phase resistance
inductance

for both the 3T and the 4T versions.

has a pic with an inspection database of certain values, indicating that sometimes significant phase resistance measurement differences occur due to motor-to-controller phase wire length or gauge


Once I'm sure I have the right parameter data, then at least I'll know any issues with the controller are not caused by wrong info there.
 
Hello! Recieved my mxus v3 3k that I ordered from MXUS alibaba. Shouldn't the v3 come with 4mm phase wires as standard? I think mine are 2.5mm .. I don't have any caliper here with me to measure them but they don't look to be 4mm..

Those look like 4.0mm2 phase wires to me.

Keep in mind the "4.0mm2" refers to the cross sectional area NOT the diameter of the wire.

The Diameter of a 4mm2 wire is close to 2.5mm.

What is a top speed of motor 6T at sabvoton controller and square wave controller at 18s 75V?
At square wave controller at 75V I had about 30-32mph at flat - motor 6T V2
At sabvoton 72150 ( flux disable) at 75V I have only 25mph at flat - motor 6T V3

I think speed should be similar on both controllers.
Difference is about 20%, I think there is too big difference.

Aside from that it will be a pain in the ass to grind or cut mangets, the main problem will be the thickness of 5mm through which it is magnetiszed.
If you would grind it down to 2.8mm you would loose almost all of it's magnetism.

I would have some 45mm MXUS V2 (non-bended) magnets lying around which i would give you for free (shipping costs covered) if you want.
