electric trial bike

Well, it's too bad he's been testing 20" wheel version. I don't speak French but it looks to me like the 20" wheels. Clearly, it needs 24" wheels which will have inevitably longer swingarm. The same thing happened with Freerider ... sort of. First, they offered it in 20" version. Which is fine for people who look for something small, super light ... they don't expect it to be used in serious conditions. Just riding for fun ... Then they came up with 24"/24" set-up with longer swingarm ... vast improvement from geometry standpoint. After that they started offering 26"/24" which to me is the way to go, especially when combined with more agressive and durable tires.

I think the 20" Challenger would still be OK to play around house or nearby park. I do it on OSET 20R ... and it's full of compromises as well. But quite frankly they don't bother me for the 35mins quick stints. But I am personally more interested in 24" version Challenger, especially due to the cost being 1/2 of something like EM Sport, Dragonfly or GasGas electric offerings. They will surely be more capable, no questions about it, but way beyond what I could justify for my next purchase.

Very cool. Will have to check those out.

Hopefully, the distribution will be much better this time around. I am up here in Canada and it felt like pulling tees just to get see one in flesh or ride a demo.

Also, why these 19/17 size bikes are not even mentioned at the company's website? Perhaps, not quite ready yet?

the 17/19 epure is the same bike as the adult epure, just with smaller wheels for teens or a shorter rider.. that means the bike can "grow" with the rider by adding the full size wheels as the rider gets bigger.. (found this info on their facebook, likely will be added to their website soon;)

First Looks at the new Kuberg Off Road Scooter :

"This new 50mph scooter is freaking sick so much torque so much fun.

This is a prototype, the final product will come with a pneumatic seat.."

That looks like a no nosense trials bike. Good choice of fork.. Manitou Dorado. Very minimal frame with combination foot platform/skid plate and a very small looking rear wheel to give exceptional torque. In my opinion putting a seat on it just dilutes it from the hardcore raw application of riding over large girth logs,, which it should be meant for. :D :thumb:

I like it a lot but needs a larger diameter rear wheel for obstacle roll over .. if you want more torque add amps not a small wheel (for off-road)..

I agree, the rear wheel looks unmatched to the front ... Sort of like, the Freerider with 24" MTB and small 20" NC wheel. I loved riding that bike, but it was a website machine to the point that it was creating problems ... The geometry was just compromising on any uphill.

But maybe, the scooter name indicates something not seen before and thus don't expect conventional wheel sizes etc.

I do love the inventive nature of this company. Always thinking outside of the box.

I must say, after having a brief chance to try both, Kuberg Challenger and the new scooter, back to back, both are very interesting bikes. In very different ways.

Yikes! $6500? Are those fatbike tires on narrow bicycle rims? The proportions look a little weird as well. Its always nice to see more options on the market but that's almost enough for 2 Sur-Rons! I like the general frame design more than the common sheetmetal box ebike frames. How did you happen across this thing?

what I find most interesting is the two speed mechanical transmission:) .. hope to find more pics etc of it and how it works.. and china entry to the electric trial bike market.. (I never stop scouring the interwebs for such things;) ..

These look like rebranded DOB Bikes. Or at least there is another version or similar version.

Here are a few vids of different DOB models

I've been riding a dob for the past 6 months or so (I'm now the Australian importer).

The 2-speed gearbox is very neat and works a treat, slow hi-torque for trials, fast for between sections. Adds a little bit of noise to the drive but it's not loud by any means. Combined with two programmable controller settings by switch it gives the bike four distinct modes.
Moto-style linkage rear suspension mated to an MTB air shock. Air MTB forks up front.
20" x 4" tyres or 24" x 2.6". The bigger wheels take a slightly longer swingarm. A couple of 20" tyre options depending if you're riding hard or soft surfaces.
Brushed motor - 1.8Kw continuous, 3.8 peak. Brushed means a relatively inexpensive controller/motor combo still gives good delay-free throttle response.
30Ah 48V LiPo battery with BMS and circuit breaker.
35kg

Overall the quality is very good - everything fits and is finished nicely. They mostly don't use high end big-brand components (Fox, Rockshock etc), but the components are all good second-tier stuff (SR-Suntour, DNM etc). Brakes are available as either Shimano or Magura. I use 4-pot Shimano on Australian models.

I ride B-grade moto trials, and play on bike-trials. The dob is a right in the middle. Some obstacles you ride more like a moto, some more like a bicycle. It's bucket loads of fun.
I'd say it's effective max rider weight is around 80kg or so. Taller riders would probably want to swap the handlebar stem for a longer one. It's small, yes, but that's part of what makes it so much fun to chuck around.

There's more info at www.dobbikes.com.au if you're interested. EDIT: it's not dead as stated below, just for some reason if I make it a link the link gets "endless-sphere.com" prepended to it.
