Hi guys, My ebikes are all Retro MTB but my last ebike frame broke so i decided to go a different route as i have always liked the sleeper look and im getting old.
Its a 1000w motor with a 20ah 48v battier and its a little bit scary but much fun to ride , it was a pain to put together If you want to see my thought process, broken ebike & other ebikes please see my other post, there is some loose ends to tidy up but let me know what you think please all.

I like that bike. Cross-2 spoking in the rear wheel will be a problem sooner or later, but that's fixable when it becomes an issue.

Now you need a matching front basket to carry your stuff.

You have a sharp eye. Why is that if you don't mind?

Its a nice ride, but personally I hate the way those handlebars are. I tried handlebars like that a few yrs ago and it wasn't to my liking but to each their own.

A 1pc front handlebar welded basket is something I've been looking at. A 5" riser with a deeper basket, might have to make my own.

Bought some Evo Brooklyn handlebars. Havent tried them out yet but I know already they will affect handling, so I wouldnt put more than a few pounds of stuff in them. Origin 8 also makes a similar product.

Check out the Azor front rack. Its frame mounted so your steering isnt affected as much.

Thank you for your feedback guys, the rear wheel was built with13 gauge spokes cross 2, cross 3 with a large hub is problematic, if you check the white bike wheel you will see the angle of the spokes and that was with a smaller hub, the original hub wheel was a cross 1 but with 12 gauge spokes when i brought it, but you are right as less crosses less strong and the spokes will/do work loose on hub motor more so with fewer crosses, the main problem was the rear brake, if you look its bolted to the rear rack as not enough room to fit between frame and rack stay, not ideal but its a strong rack and the only other option was to remove/replace the rack and that not happening, didn't want a disc brake but had no choice as couldn't fit cantilevers as no fittings & the brake bridge is too high to fit caliper brake.

Im 6.4" the handle bars hit my knees at low speed corning which is not ideal but i have spent my MTB life bent over arse up head down and to sit upright is glorious but the front gets very light as all the weight is over the back wheel.

Was going to fit a wicker front basket but its a bloody massive bike as is and i live on second floor and i cant even put it on its back wheel as the mudguard is to long plus the frame flexes, it doesn't stop, it doesn't corner and when you hit a bump as 25-30 mph its scary as hell and everything would just bounce out of the basket anyway......but i do have kittens i did think that would be cool with them in the basket .

That bike's a work of art! The basket pulls the whole bike together.

lovin the baskets , useful is cool currently doing bike with crate and basket :thumb:
here's one I did earlier cool custom commuter kona has Panasonic 19ah with 50amp BMS and 40amp sine wave controller oh yeah and mud guards so bit of a stealth sleeper

Added front suspension for more bounce lol. Wanted to install asi controller for its superior braking power but the wiring is so awkward, going up and across. Couldn't make it work.

24s, 10kw, 55mph. More details here

I've done 3 eBikes thus far, in 2 years. 2 are entirely complete - one is 99% completed but sitting because i got distracted by other projects..

My first Go at It - a 'Gamma Vision' MTB - 1000w Bafang BBSHD, 48v13ah pack. By the time i was done with it, it became an ersatz DH eMTB mountain goat kind of thing, Everything but the frame, rear swingarm assembly, rear shock was replaced.

My Second, a Completion project that had been hanging around for more than a few years. I decided for some odd reason to turn it into a Hybrid build. This is the 99% done project. Simply needs wiring, and drive chain hooked up to complete. Gas Bike frame, with 66cc Chinese two stroke bicycle motor, along with a Tong sheng TSDZ2 750w mid-drive.

Terra Trike Tour 2 Tadpole Recumbent Trike - eMTB wasn't really working out as planned, with my bad (already replaced) hips, so needed something else for assisted exercise and motivation due to balance deficit. Based around a 1000w Golden Motors Black Magic Pie 5 Vector rear wheel assembly, twin 48v19.2 battery packs.

As it came home with me in January 2021.





And as current, October 2021.

Sweet bikes Hd , nice random selection, full squish rocky mountain with BBS for trails, Can't go wrong,
steampunky retro boardtrack hybrid thing with huge rotors for looking cool at the coffee shop 8) hybrid quiet when in town then fire up 2 stroke out on the road,
not normally a fan of recumbents but proper seat and decent lighting on yours be hard to beat for comfort and useabilty bet miles fly by

Variety is the Spice of Life, and Winters can be long and hard here in Canada, on a guy who ain't into Hockey or Snowmobiling.

I've got relatively little mileage on the eMTB this season, since the rolling Couch came on the scene - it's THE best way to enjoy an outdoor Music festival, believe that! I wasn't really a fan before this either, due to safety/visibility concerns as a motorcyclist, knowing a low observable vehicle is a target for grief.. hence the emphasis on making it a rolling Christmas tree, with enough headlights that say don't 'eff with me! I put a buttload of mileage on it (pun intended) in the past 4 months since completion. My pick-up truck just sunk into the driveway from sitting, throughout the summer.

The retro-thing was a design/creativity exercise, first and foremost. Conceived around the time that Cannabis went Legal in Canada. Coincidence? I think not. Like most stereotypical 'Stoners', i now appear to have motivational issues with that one.. just too damn lazy/having too much fun on the eTrike, to do the very last of the work. It's only been around as an evolving project for ~7 years.. so what was another few months more. It's purpose was more as 'Garage Jewelry', and was intended to yank out a couple times a year to Terrorize the neighborhood (in style), than anything else. It's purpose as a gas bike, has/had literally been rendered obsolete by my newfound interest in the ebikes now, so was a case of either abandoning project, or putting new spin on things in a retro sort of way.

I'm now currently Squirreling parts together, for a Mk2 eTrike version.. i've come to the reasonable limitations of use in rougher conditions that i'm exploring now with the initial Terratrike setup. Not worth it to upgrade further. The plan is to build a full suspension setup, with a higher rated drive system as a replacement.

Build a trike that you can strap on front ski's and spiked rear wheel.

Here my good old Bionx 48V Motor 1500Watt max. Akku 21Ah.

2004 Rocky Mountain Switch freeride/DH full suspension. Put a 1500W KT CSC kit on it from Aliexpress and made torque arms with 1/4” steel.

Replaced the main pivot bearings in the rear suspension, they are needle roller bearings (very strong). Bike also needed a new bottom bracket which I installed before putting the rear wheel on. Serviced the fork with an oil change and cleaned the seals. 7” travel on the front 2004 Marzocchi Super T Pro. 6” travel in the back. Serviced the Hayes Nines with new fluid.

What are the specs?

My first post here....I do not have a "before" picture...but this was just taken after yesterday's ride. It's a Luna Cycle "Apollo"...and has batteries.

I have replaced every component but the Cranks, made for this model frame-set, and the Rear Brake Caliper.

Have 200 miles on the Odo and is my first new Mt Bike in 25 years...I still have both Ventana's that I raced in the late 80' early 90's.
