Electric boat conversion using BEV parts

Has anyone taken the motor/battery/electronics/cables from a salvaged or old BEV like a Nissan Leaf or BMW I3 or similar and repurposed it into a inboard sterndrive or shaft drive motorboat? I did see someone on YT do it with a Leaf but there was very little detail of the actual conversion, just...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Thank you to those who have suggested ways around my motor controller programming issue; I haven't yet had a chance to go through the ones posted over the last week as doing so on my bike is more time consuming (enclosed recumbent) and I've been busy this week with work and other commitments...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I've also tried your method, nothing.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I made my own connectors in the formation you have shown; didn’t work. I had a speed sensor with 6 wires which corresponded with casainho’s installation guidelines. When I try to read the motor controller, the battery pack is not plugged in and the LCD is not switched on but I note that casainho...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi, Using a Macbook Air 2011 When you say ‘write’ I take it you mean ‘program’ as I don’t see a ‘write’ anywhere. Did you try to read the current tab or all tabs before trying to program/write to the motor controller? I haven’t tried to program the ST Link yet as JB suggested ensuring that it...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

How do I read OPT or EEPROM? and indeed how do I erase or unlock the STM8? Is OPT, option byte? Thanks

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I’ve made another short cable but this time using the speed sensor cable end; identical problem; this is a total waste of time ☹️. As lots of people have done this successfully there’s something I’m not doing right; what can it be? I soldered connections onto the speed sensor cable so that it...

    Yep, read the LCD3 fine.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I’ve tried using battery power and the 5V wire on the ST Link. I used 5V for the LCD3. I’ve swapped RST and Swim around as well as GND and tried to read the controller in the ST software. No USB extension- straight into USB port. ST Link straight into speed sensor on motor. As the display...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Can someone please help me; I've tried connecting the ST Link to the Speed sensor on the TSDZ2 to flash the firmware to the motor but whatever I do, I get the same Swim comms error; started with cables inc connectors at 9cm and cut them down to 5cm...still doesn't work; spent the whole weekend...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Well my premature excitement has come to an abrupt end ☹️ Haven’t got past the second stage, I.e. flashing the TSDZ2 from the ST Link via the speed sensor...keeps saying Swim comms error. I’ve changed the wires in different pins on the speed sensor (going to TSDZ2) and no change...I read that...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Thankfully I managed to figure it out - the pins connecting the wires to the LCD3 were slotted in but I thought why not press down on them and thankfully that resolved the issue! Step one sorted :D

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi all, So finally have time to program the KT-LCD3 - Blocked at first hurdle :( I get the following error in the ST software: Cannot communicate with the tool. Wrong tool selection or check tool power supply or check that a previous session is closed Any ideas welcome; must be something...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Keep up the good work casainho :) The default TSDZ2 setup is ok, but your improvements sound like they will greatly improve the riding experience and provide the ability to monitor all the power related values. Is one able to use the XH18 with the LCD3? Hopefully I'll be able to order the...

    GT Power 130A Watt Meter

Hi all, I purchased the GT Power 130 Watt Meter about 6 months ago; after 4 months the digits disappeared from the display but the blue display still remained lit; I checked the wiring and it looks like there are no issues. I have it installed inline between the battery and the motor. Is there...
