    Diamondback OverDrive 27.5 "RidgeRunner"

Hi folks. Thanks for the replies. I see I had purchased a PhaseRunner for this project a few years ago, then it fell off the radar, too many projects. I ran across some articles about using the ASI BAC855 on utub recently. Perhaps I'll go ahead with the PR. I drifted away from ebikes since I...

    Diamondback OverDrive 27.5 "RidgeRunner"

Hi Folks. I'm considering digging this ebike out of the dust in the garage and putting a nice FOC controller on the BBSHD. What's available these days?

How about a 3D printer section?

With a multimaterial printer one should be able to print TPU and PETG together directly. Perhaps the coming soon Prusa XL.

I like the Dragon hotend, but the new E3D Revo Mini will be the leader when it gets here. Micro Swiss is well made but falling behind the current tech. The transition from hard and tricky to change nozzles and heat breaks to trivial one handed hotend maintenance is coming very soon.

How about a 3D printer section?

I have a Raspberry Pi with Octoprint feeding my Prusa MK3. After slicing a model it takes two clicks to send the file and start the print. It is really convenient and reliable. No need to fiddle with SD or USB Flash memories to transfer gcode files to the printer.

The Voron 2.4 is an excellent 3D Printer, and there are some good kits coming out now making it more accessible to build. The r2 update will be out soon with minor improvements and a major manual rewrite. I've been following the Vorons for awhile now and have chosen the Trident in 250mm for my...

How about a 3D printer section?

Some upgrades make small differences, the Revo will make changing nozzle diameters trivial, so the nozzle size can be adjusted to suit each print job. This is a major improvement. No tools, done at room temperature, no chance of leaks or damaging the hotend. A case of quality filament costs...

There is certainly a Revo Hemera though it's a bit chunky. I'd prefer a Bondtech LGX Lite and Revo Micro DD setup. Design the mount, or find it - someone will.

    Revo Hotend preorders started today.

Tonite I was looking at how to cement a broken wooden toy airplane propeller which snapped along the grain, it is hard to clamp while drying, so I decided to 3d print a splint. The prop is flat but there is a wooden prop nut in the way so I came up with this, a very simple design that only took...

Tramming perhaps, probably not trammeling... :) Much of the value in a 3d printer comes from being able to make your own designs. Best of luck with your new machine. PS: A lite coating of Aquanet on a clean dry printbed will improve adhesion. Finger oils contaminate the printbed so after...

How about a 3D printer section?

High end 3d printers need to be enclosed to print engineering grade materials. Even PETG prints better with enclosure. Also the printbed horizontal motion is a bad design for high end, moving the printed object causes unwanted air motion and cooling plus it is important to minimize printer...

    RadPowerBike RadCity Commuter

The RadCity uses a standard Freewheel, I replaced it with one from Amazon. Clutch is internal. Sad to throw away the new looking cluster for some small internal broken parts, rather expensive too. The Peugeot ebike rim was built by Cycle9, my first 9C hubmotor wheel from 2010. Many, many miles...

How about a 3D printer section?

If you want to spend your time fixing, upgrading and modifying your machine (or you just cannot afford more) buy a low end machine. If you want to use your machine the way it came out of the box (rather than work on it), have a machine that runs for thousands and thousands of prints with...

How about a 3D printer section?

Limiting print time to an hour, or even three really puts a limit on what you can make.
