    PING BATTERY OR NOT

I'm giving up on my Ping Battery and BMC. Actually my second Ping Battery and BMC since the first ones also failed. The amount of time spent screwing around and or sending it back etc. is more than quite a few new batteries at my wage point. The guy is amazing at support and very willing to help...

    Infineon Ctr to 400WBMC Malfunction

FIXED! Tiny resistor soldered and epoxied to the green board inside hub had a loose solder joint. The electronics inside those hubs perhaps leave a bit to be desired considering they are subject to millions of tiny bumps during the course of a lifetime.

    Infineon Ctr to 400WBMC Malfunction

On my 400W BMC to 35A 36v Infineon controller with ping 36v lithium, motor grinds loudly for 2 or 3 seconds then cuts out. Throttle reset, same thing occurs. After repeating this pumping of the throttle and grinding for around 6 minutes everything starts working fine. If I let the bike sit...

    Whacky Infineon Controller

It's still messed up, but not as bad. If I machine gun crank the throttle it starts working correctly. Something still whacky going on but livable I suppose. Kinda like my spouse.

    Whacky Infineon Controller

It was where a throttle wire connected to the circuit board. It had just broken around the diameter of the wire. Also one of the leads you jump to get a 48V controller which didn't matter since mine is 36V. Curious that a throttle wire would cause a leg to go south, if that's what was actually...

NEW 445nm 1W real BLUE laser for cheap!!!

I have a CNC plasmacam machine in my shop that cuts with a ThermalDynamics plasma cutter. I'm waiting for someone to modify this machine to laser, if in fact it is possible. Otherwise it's a 250K investment last time I checked. This stuff is interesting.

    Whacky Infineon Controller

Opened it up and found two places where the solder joint was loose and resoldered them. Now it works fine, however this is the condition the controller was in when I received it from ComCycle USA so I was most likely sent a defective unit someone else had returned to ComCycleUSA. In other words...

    Whacky Infineon Controller

OK, guess I'll open it up (for the second time to test for moisture). There's a component on the board (mosfets?) that's seriously glued/attached to the outside of the box (for heat reasons, I assume) that made me hesitate the first time. Guess you have to bite the bullet and re-glue it when you...

    Whacky Infineon Controller

Not sure what you mean. Yes, the motor is connected. There would be nothing to discuss unless it was.....

    Whacky Infineon Controller

Got a 36V, 30 amp Infineon controller on a 15ah Ping with an Evtech BMC 400w hub and when I first turn it on it sounds like a sick frog and then cuts out to no power. I crank on the throttle and it does it again. After doing that around fifteen or twenty times it stops malfunctioning and works...

Build your own CD battery tab welder for about $100.00+-

All of this info is quite fascinating and I've learned a lot I didn't know before but I'm not at all convinced a fancy smancy dual pulsed welder does most jobs any better and maybe not as well as a regular transformer based AC welder that costs almost nothing. Owning both types (single pulsed...

Build your own CD battery tab welder for about $100.00+-

Just so you know....I priced a newish Chinese dual pulsed capacitive (battery tab) welder, an 875ws unit and was quoted $4,700.00 before shipping which would be an additional $380.00 to me in US. This would lead me to believe a 250ws dual pulsed would be around 1k, maybe less or more. Now...

Build your own CD battery tab welder for about $100.00+-

Not a great battery tab welder but a nice resistance spotter. Timer control with solid state relay. Two MOT's @115V in parallel and 4AWG in series. Pedal on bottom activates spot jaws. Also extra hand held pincers in two flavors. Wire cage in lower right is .045 wire welded with this and Orion...

Build your own CD battery tab welder for about $100.00+-

Help needed, safety issues of great concern. Please correct if wrong....... The DIY CD welders discussed in this thread use low voltage power supplies (under 20V) hooked up to larger capacitors (over 1,000,000uF) to make welds. Smaller CD stud welders generally use 66,000uF caps with...

MOT Spot welder Question 115 or 220 V?

Built up a MOT powered spot welder with two transformers in series with a timer and a solid state relay, both rated to 240V ac @25amps. I'm running it at 115V and it works great but I am wondering if I can run it at 220V since the timer and relay are both rated for the higher voltage.... I've...
