TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Looks like I have some catching up to do! Thank you guys for this thread and all the documentation. I'll be playing with my own TSDZ2 shortly. Working on getting it all linked up. Anyone know what the potting compound is in the controllers? Silicone? Just trying to get an idea of what I'm up...

Hallomotor hubs on ebay, August 2015

All I can tell you is that the Hallomotor/Conhismotor "1500w" controllers pull up to 45A from the battery. I've used a regen and non-regen sine wave controller and they make my ebike scoot. I have no idea if they are programmable.

1 Year Down The Road: Hardtail 29er Hub Drive Evolution

Well, I definitely spread some misinformation here. I was confusing an old "1000w" eBay kit controller (33A +/- 1A max) with my current Conhismotor "1500w" controller (45A +/- 1A). At a full 58.8V charge that's over 2600w assuming no sag. Even with a couple of volts sag that is still A LOT of...

    Risunmotor Mid Drive?

Higher power as in 52V or as in a reprogram or external controller? I too am curious if these are Bafang knockoffs. I could save a little under $200 vs a BBSHD if these are legit performers.

    Risunmotor Mid Drive?

I spotted these Risunmotor mid drives on eBay and a quick search didn't find anything worth mentioning on ES or other sites. I've never seen one before. Similar advertised performance vs Bafang motors but not a lot of cost savings on the lower power kits. Just curious if anyone had any...

Anyone seen an electric rock crawler?

That thing reminds me of the Tachikoma from the series Ghost in the Shell... Sometimes I forget I'm probably one of the only people on ES who grew up as an anime nerd lol.

Makes sense, the no load speed of the new motor is around 50 mph where as the no load speed of the 29er bike is 44 and change. If I was still single and without offspring I'd probably be neck deep into a motorcycle or small car conversion with both the time and money to do it right. As much as...

I have no problem upgrading the bike if she gets into riding more-it's something we've talked about doing but have yet to do much of as a couple. Having another child on the way this past year did not help us any lol. At this point the main obstacle is that the nearby neighborhoods are littered...

One more little follow up: We took our bikes around the block for a quick test ride. Apparently she was procrastinating trying it out. I'm guessing she didn't want me to be disappointed if she hated it. I was ready to strip all the e-bike parts off if she did, so no big deal there. Early on...

I've checked the pricing and availibility of LiPo's and see I can get serious range and power output for a lot less than my LiPO4's. But those LiPo horror stories on ES scare the pants off of me. I can't constantly monitor the batteries while charging. We have three kids and I am liable to get...

Final follow-up before a ride review this coming week: This bike is now hers. I have the controller configured at minimum hall/battery current (50%) with the slow start set at maximum. It doesn't pull a full 30A from this battery either as configured either. Instead it settles in the low 20's...

Hallomotor hubs on ebay, August 2015

Hi BikeSexual... I have one of the 1500w Conhismotor (Hallomotor) kits on my bike. It is actually 135mm. It fit snugly in my Cannondale Trail SL5 29er aluminum frame bike without any stretching. I feel this kit is of a slightly higher quality than some of the other gamble kits on the market...

This controller is advertised as plug and play with a cyclone motor. I knew I could be in for a challenge when mating it up to any old eBay motor. I feel lucky since all I did was match up the halls and experiment with the phase wires. It could've been way worse. I have the motor in the bike...

Thanks for the compliments on the ride eleven6 and nutspecial. I would have gone for 24" but the 26" kit was way cheaper than a 24" kit or buying a motor and spoking up a wheel. Maybe I'll look into that in the future. Dogman dan, how do they hold up to bumps and potholes? I like them better...

The BMX bars for my lame little moped were leftovers in the garage. I'll try to make them work before I start throwing more money at it. Thanks for the idea, I may well have to go that route. There is still plenty left to do: 1) Receive motor and check for damage 2) Hook up controller and pair...
