I may be given a 72v pack soon. Both my bikes run on 48V. Is there any way to step down this voltage so it can be used? My thoughts: 1. A resistor in series...but this wastes a good bit of the power into heat 2. A DC-DC converter...but I haven't been able to find such a thing...lots that step...

I am doing some repair work on a 4s10p pack. Does anyone have an idea of how I detach/remove these black plastic holders shown in the picture, so I can get at the cells?

Thanks for the suggestion. I assume that switch would need to be capable of carrying the full discharge amps load? 20-25 amps?

I am replacing the BMS on a 13s lithium pack. The replacement BMS does not have an on/off connection for a switch but does have a temperature sensor (thermistor). I measured the thermistor resistance at room temp at about 1200 ohms. I heated it up with my heat gun and saw the resistance dropped...

If you are indeed seeing around 13 volts using 48 cells, your config must be 4s12p, not 12s4p. 12s with LiFePO4 is nominally 36V.

Or at times right on the BMS board.

You see anything on the BMS board or inline with the output wires that looks like a fuse or fuseholder? If so, check it for continuity.

I am trying to help a friend retrofit a battery to his controller where the connectors do not match. On the controller side it is a 4-pin spade type connector (something like a Hailong setup). I know only 2 of the 4 connections on the controller side are used, but how do I determine which one...

Thanks Here's a pic of the underside of the battery. This mount has a latch on the front (top)? as well as the connection at the bottom for the discharge port. The mount itself is keyed where the top latch is, not the pack itself.

I recently had my bike stolen (from my garage). The only blessing is that I had the battery pack in the house so still have it.
