Good idea Crossbreak. But do you think the small motor as a left-side-DD will get you up a hill from standstill with that gearing?
I also think that a DD is better for high power (4000W+). That's why the upcoming LR LHD single stage kit is on my list.
The LR has more motor mass (I forgot about...
I haven't seen the new Spitzing yet. I know from two friends (both have Bafang Ultra and HD) that the TQ Drive is very good (pretty strong for an EU-legal drive and good torqe sensing).
The new Flyon bikes from Haibike wich use the TQ aswell, look more interesting to me (price/looks).
I hope I...
Came across these freewheel Cranks and I was wondering if they work with a tangent:

In the worst case you might have fried your controller. The display came on for a couple of seconds because there was some juice left in the capacitors. Good luck! I fried one in a similar way.
Hello,
For those with serious offroad riding in mind, who are looking for a capable bike with Bafangs Ultra drive, take a look at this: http://www.exess-bikes.de/
The manufacturer is just an hour away from my home, so I went there for a test drive on the trails.
For the last 2 years I was...
KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid :) I didn't know that term.
Can you recommend a bulb or resistor for the intended use as a precharge resistor? What specs? Maybe a 55W/ 12V bulb from a headlight? Or do I need something with a higher power rating?
Did you think of something like this as a loop...
Thanks for clearing that up major!
I guess I'll just buy a contactor with 72V coil.
I still wonder why the bike has a converter for the 12V stuff and another for the 24V contactor coil.
Thanks Punx0r,
Good explanation!
Now I think I will keep the contatactor in my bike.
My contactor is a Tyco LEV200A5NAF.
I'm confused by the sticker on it that say's 24Vdc.
My Bike (2012 Zero X) had a converter for all the 12V stuff (lights speedometer etc.). I took all this stuff off the bike...
