Snickers is right: the first number is the number of strands run in parallel and the second number is the count of windings. And the 154 is NOT (!) a geared motor. It hence allows for recuperation. I have been riding it happily for 2000 km now. Picture attached. . Greetings

I wouldn't strain the 16 V available. In the worst case they are result of a resistor network and an inline regulator. Suggest you consider a DC-DC converter for an elegant solution which leaves room for more on-board electronics running at 12 V such as GPS, Entertainment, Missile launcher and...
