30 cm seems quite long to me. Did you also twist the battery to esc cabels? Can´t see it in the pic of your board.
Maybe that could help already solving a bit of the mistery...

I would do it like in the image I attached you. For the dirt I would put a tank filter like the one used in nitro rc cars.

Also, I saw that you are going for a gearbox build. That's actually the way I was going too before I noticed that at that rpm range, the gearbox is going to be really really hot. Did you already think how to cool the gears?

Would be interesting to build a flumen. So you actually could measure the impeller effency, the torque, amps, rpm and also optimize the nozzle and stator geometry.

Did you take measurements of the ESC temperature and Ampere? Would be interesting to know if the ESC can really handle the 300 A.
And also see if nothink burns out :D
