I'm wanting it for future-proofing my bike, as far as my speed-hunger goes. For instance, I'd be running at 48v initially, with a view to adding to the battery (maybe even doubling it)... It'll hold up to that, right?
Last night I fulfilled a long-held desire: I installed a hidden switch that, when pushed, would restrict my bike to the UK legal limit of 15mph.
I used a locking push switch from Maplin:

I wired it up to my Lyen 12 Fet controller's...
The fact that your bike goes to full throttle sometimes makes me think that your throttle is fubar... Cheap throttles can go this way if they get a good soaking. Do you have another that you could try? This doesn't explain the rough ride a mid-speed, but it would explain the unexpected...
Apologies - my statement was misleading. Yes, I know the difference.
The max charge rate quoted on the BMSBattery site is 5C, but I'd be more than happy to work to 2C.
Is that actually true? This is the first time I have heard this for lifepo4 cells, and I can't find anything on the web to...
Hi
Anyone got a BMSBattery lifepo4 pack that has upgraded the charger?
I have a 48v 20ah pack that came with a 4amp charger. It's fine, but it would be great to be able to charge quicker. I was just wondering whether an upgrade was possible, and if so, what you'd recommend. The pack is made...
I don't have the cable to do this, but I am being sent one, so I'll do this (but 120% )
I did try shorting x1 with ground, then x2 with ground, as I don't have a three way switch, but it made no difference.
What information would that yield that would be of use? Surely the amps would go up, just like when you are accelerating?
Yeah, I ran it without the CA, and it made no difference.
That sounds like a possibility. I'm not sure that you can set such a limit with Lyen controllers, though. I'd be very interested to know if there is a way. I've not got a programming cable yet, but one should be arriving soon.
Either way, the controller should be pushing 30 continuous amps to the motor when under load (as set in the battery bms). I don't know why it is suddenly plummeting down to 15 amps once it gets to 22mph. Neither the controller nor the CA does has a max speed or max amps set, so it should be just...
