    BMS question

Thanks for this, have done several cycles now with the balance turned off They seem to have settled in now if that's a thing, only 0.07v diff charging at 90A

    BMS question

Thanks, this is all new to me. There seems be quite a few ways to get it wrong! It will be under load quite a bit, although hopefully the solar will run things alot in the summer

    BMS question

Been looking at this a bit more, When I set it up I had to split one module to get 2x2s to got with the ( 3x4s)X2 to make my 14s2p battery, this split battery is above one series stack, so the series cable from the other is longer. Cell 12 BMS lead is fixed to - of cell 13. I thought this might...

    BMS question

Thanks I am assuming there must be current flowing in BMS wire as they are the only parallel link between the 2 cells of cell 12, I haven't tried to measure it. I'll check my BMS settings for a cell delta function, but I'm seeing over 120mV difference when drawing 170A so I'm guessing one of...

    BMS question

Been doing a bit more testing on this, Cell 12 sags by 100-120mV bellow the highest cell when pulling around 170A Cell 12 is 80mV above the rest when charging at 80ish A The battery is 14s2p made up of 4s modules, 380aH. Is this enough to be a problem? I have a spare module I could put in...

    BMS question

Thanks, These are fairly new 2023 Hyundai batteries, they are spot on when idle. Just having come away from it for a bit and had a think, I've got a jbd BMS think it goes up to 21s, you have to join the spare inputs, I've done this at a junction box I made up so I wouldn't mind betting cell 12...

    BMS question

Takes me ages to do anything! @harrisonpatm Would your printed cover fit on there or are my busbars in the way? I'm just charging these up for the first time and cell 12 runs ahead a bit on voltage. I've dropped the current a bit now and it's a bit better Is this a problem? The batteries...

    Wr450f 2007 build/conversion

Hi everyone, I'm new to all this, have been reading up on here for quite a long time....... I'd like to convert my 2007 road registered wr450f. I'd also like to ride the bike while doing it 😉 So I think best plan is to buy another frame and build the motor and battery onto it. Question is, I...

    Yamaha YZ450F

I suppose compared to the rest of the build the difference in cost isn't too big! I'm watching this with great interest, you'll have worn it out by the time I get to doing a build! Are you planning on using 3shul with this?

    Yamaha YZ450F

Nice to see the insides of these things :), how did it compare price wise to the qs138 90h in the end? The gears look nice and meaty anyway

    Yamaha YZ450F

That does look interesting, is that for your new bike? I'm planning on building in the next year if I can, had nearly settled on qs138 90h with the reduction, that motor looks to have more potential though? How does it compare price wise? With a 30s cl1000 should be a good match?

    BMS question

Thanks I haven't but a friend has! I'll fit it all together this week and see if it looks like it should have a cover on it, I'm not quite sure where it will fit yet? Cheers Geoff

    BMS question

Contactor has arrived, quick bench test, it draws 170mA@ 15v so a whole 2.55w to hold it! About 1.5A peak to pull it closed. Compared to the one on the BMS that was around 15w?! Nearly finished a quick and dirty pic based temperature monitor so hopefully should be up and running this week.

    BMS question

Cheers, that is the one I've ordered! I'm in the UK and paid £30 for a new one, should get it next week! I'd rather go cautious so will make my monitor trip at 45*C !

    BMS question

Just working things out here for a little system to monitor the battery temperature, seems anything over 55*C is bad for discharge 50*C for charging? Which rounds me down to making something that will throw the contactor at 50*C as it won't know if it's charging or discharging and 0*C at the...
