I just flashed my 48v TSDZ2 motor with the stock firmware following the instructions on the eco-bike.com website and now the motor is completely dead!
There's nothing! The screen still comes on but no power on throttle or PAS...
Anyone else experienced this? Anything I can do to troubleshoot...
I am experiencing the pedals moving forward but not moving motor / drivechain when under load (happens regardless of whether motor is on off) - is this what you mean by axle instability?
Very interesting, thanks for the detailed post - looks like a setup that works really well for you. That's exactly the system I want to find (at a similar price) in Australia, I'll contact the seller again and ask if he'll ship to Australia.
Another option would be to attempt to install my TSDZ2 mid drive somehow on the bike (GT Sensor 2).
I think the bottom bracket thread is the right size, but because of the design its almost 'floating'.

Thanks everyone for your useful, thoughtful and helpful comments - so much knowledge here! Going to do a bit more thinking and a bit more research before making the plunge!

I tried to fit a 34t tooth chainring to my TSDZ2 but I'm not sure if its supposed to go on the inside of the 'spider' that holds the chainring (where original chainring was) or on the outside (where chainring guard was previously).
When I fit to the inside of the 'spider' the chain rubs against...
I don't think there's any reason not to go the throttle version - I have it. I don't use it much but useful to have when walking with bike, or if I am just jumping on bike quickly and can just give a quick blast with throttle (note on TSDZ2 throttle doesn't give full power / boost).
These tools are excellent thank you! I've just used them to calculate hill and the satellite map isn't that detailed in my area with such short distances it doesn't seem very accurate. The steepest climb is actually showing as a downhill using the tool. And the two other hills come out as 2 -...
