Addind 10 more amps of capacity and bigger connectors

Yeah I’m a realist I don’t expect to double my runtime and acceleration and speed just by doubling the batteries capacity. The only reason I’m suggesting that it will be better is because the manufacture clearly states to run it at 72V 20A minimum. Thanks again for the insight.

Addind 10 more amps of capacity and bigger connectors

Thanks for the fast reply guys. Yes the batteries are getting a little warm that’s what made me think of using a bigger connector for less resistance. You’re right xt90 connectors are cheap and I have plenty of them. The batteries sit on top of the rear bike rack with Velcro and battery straps...

Addind 10 more amps of capacity and bigger connectors

I have a mongoose dolomite fat tire bike and I replaced the rear wheel with a 72 V 3 kW motor hub. It is awesome. Has plenty of torque off road and a good top speed of about 44.9 mph. I'm only using 3 multistar 6s 10a 10c lipos wired in series For 72 volts and I'm using XT 60 connectors. Going...

    16mm torque arms

My latest build is a 72 V 3000 W rear hub motor and controller. The axles on this monster are 16 mm. I can't seem to find any 16 mm torque arms anywhere on line. Are any of you guys that are running a high powered system fabricating you're own 16mm torque arms? If you bought 16mm torque arms...

    18650 VS Lipo

Maybe its me since I come from a long lineage in RC. Ive been using lipos for a long long time. The biggest I have are 6s 13A 35C(supposedly) and 6s 10A 10C. These batteries are dirt cheap thru Hobbyking. I paid $50 per 6s 10A 10C lipo a few months ago and bought 6. For 300.00 bucks I cant...

    Mid Drive OR Rear Hub?

Just got a 26" Mongoose Dolomite Fat Tire Bike for my next build. Going to use a Luna Cycle 72v 3kw or 72v 7.5kw Cyclone mid drive, OR a 72v 3kw rear hub. What do you think is better suited for off road, a mid drive or rear hub?

Mid Drive Motor changing gearing changes gear ratio?

This is probably going to be one of the dumbest questions posted on endless sphere today. If you are using a mid drive motor in your E bike, when you change your gearing while you are moving along, does that change the gear ratio going to the mid drive motor? I’ve built several rear hub E bikes...

    E bike Gearing Why Bother

For anyone building their first ebike, its a relative cheap and painless process. Ive since removed the gearing from the bike as well as the chain. I didnt have to connect the PAS or the speed limiter. Rides great off road and on road. Im 6'4 and 195 lbs and it tops out at about 35 mph on...

    E bike Gearing Why Bother

Haha I hear ya. I actually have the opposite problem. I have a high metabolism and have trouble putting weight on. People say the older you get the slower your metabolism but I would argue that also since Im in my 40s. Im 6'4 and 195 lbs and still wear the same size pants when I was in high...
