As long as the motor and controller are rated at the same voltage as the battery, a larger capacity or higher discharge battery will only put less stress on the battery or give more power over time. This will help the battery last longer given the same discharge profile.
Trigger,
I have a bbs-02 750W in a 29er Fuji frame. One main problem I see is going to come from your brakes. When you are negotiating any off road terrain you will need motor cut offs. I noticed that earlier in you stated that you have hydro brakes. You will not be able to add the manual...
It would depend on the winding of the Hub Motor. With a larger diameter wheel you will have more top end speed but less torque and greater demand from the battery. There is a great spoke size calculator on ebikes.ca.
It been covered many times but anyway here it is again. You have to be extremely careful that the charging harness cell voltages are very close in value before connecting in parallel so that they don't try to equalize cells when connect them together. Never parallel the charging harnesses of...
I purchased the Calibike battery and shipping was relatively quick. It came packed decently, just battery and charger no instructions. The weight of the battery is right at 9.82lbs.

I wrote Rafe an email about a week ago and I did not get a response back. I went back to his website today and tried again and he emailed me a phone number to contact him. He explained that the BMS has a known issue with being turned on with a load attached. He is going to email me with some...
I am having some trouble with a battery pack from Calibike. I just purchased a 48V 15ah pack. This battery has two connectors, one charge port and a pack power, and a switch on it. I assume that the switch goes to the PCM. The pack shows 54.2V fully charged with the switch on and 49V with...
Thank you all for the input. I have no desire to do 40mph and I always pedal up to at least 5mph before applying any power. At 25mph I average 500-700 watts depending on wind and my desire to pedal, which I do all the time. I was just looking to get up to speed faster and improve short hill...
I have been running this kit at 48V 20amps on a HK Lipo pack of (12S2P) for a couple of years now and I would like to up the ante. I was thinking about changing out the controller which I am almost certain is a 6 fet for a more powerful controller. I am thinking about a infineon 9 or 12 fet...
I believe that your wanting to try a cheap first kit to build has been shared by all at one point and time. I would suggest that you get a current limiting system like the Cycle Analyst V2 or V3 or other manufacturer that will allow you to restrict the power automatically. You simply set the...
