My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I'd say that, as long as you use your gears correctly, you should easily make that without pedalling & with a bit of pedal assistance, you'd pretty much make it with only one battery.......but carry the spare just in case! ;)

Twin motor, CA V3 & PhaseRunnered Bosch Haibike build & teething problems

Having previously said that I had found the problem, continued use proved that, in fact, I have not! I have had to return to the UK, for at least 3 months, and my bike remains in Tenerife, so there won't be any more investigations or updates for a while. :(

    Bafang M500/M600 thread

I'm afraid I haven't got round to a full write up of the conversion (and not likely to for a while yet), but there is a little more detail of my project (and teething problems) here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=111348 & detail of a similar conversion here...

    Bafang M500/M600 thread

I've not done anything with this motor, but I have done exactly what you're suggesting with a Bosch Gen2 motor, using a Grin PhaseRunner & a V3 Cycle Analyst: Motor is simply a case of connecting the 3 phase wire to the new controller, I haven't (as yet) managed to use the Bosch position...

    Dual hub motor issue

Unless you have 2 identical motors & controllers, the best way to get 2 motors to run together is either to use a controllers which have torque based throttle command or use Cycle Analysts or other similar devices that allows you to control the power going to each motor. (Most cheap controllers...

    Reducing battery voltage

I'm sure that there are other ways of achieving what you want, but most would probably be expensive & heavy. Assuming that your batteries are 13S, 5P, I think the only realistic way of achieving what you want, is to add another, external Series of 5 cells in Parallel, but this is still not...

Need Help With Grin Pedal Assist

I think you'll find that the PAS is what Grin refers to as a "2 wire" PAS, this is simply a sensor with 2 outputs, these are triggered, by the magnets, one after the other, which enables the controller to differentiate between forward & reverse pedalling. If your controller only has one...

    Another fried Cycle Analyst?

Yes, you have very little scope for running ancillary devices @ 72v, you really need to use an external 5v supply or DC-DC converter. I am currently running one system @ 36v & the other @ 52v, but I do intend to replace the 36v with 72v at some point, I will then add a 5v DC-DC converter to...

    Another fried Cycle Analyst?

So, some more playing with it this afternoon and I realised that in addition to supplying the "LCD +" terminal with 12v, the unit also needs the main battery power to be connected. It now seems to work OK & even has 4.95v on the 5v outputs, though I have not actually fully tested it in action...

    Another fried Cycle Analyst?

OK, so today I spent some more time looking at this & whilst mine is a revision 3 board, I was mistaken yesterday & it is actually the same in the area of the D3 diode. Having said that, when I bypass the diode, I get nothing, except that is, a burning smell, so I think it has more...

Twin motor, CA V3 & PhaseRunnered Bosch Haibike build & teething problems

OK, so I’ve fixed the mechanical side (was a stick stuck in my PAS magnet mount, coupled with a noisy bearing on the main output shaft) and done some more mods & testing. I changed the wiring for the PAS & Torque sensor 5v supplies, so that, instead of coming from the centre drive’s...

    Another fried Cycle Analyst?

Hi all, I have twin motored bike, with twin PhaseRunners & twin CA3-WP and MFSwitches, yesterday I was carrying out some tests to try to find the root of a PAS system problem that I have, this involved connecting/disconnecting/swapping throttle, PAS & brake connectors about a bit. I had the...

Setting up Phaserunner with mostly unknown motor specs?

Personal preference, you'll find that they behave very differently, I prefer ThrO.

Twin motor, CA V3 & PhaseRunnered Bosch Haibike build & teething problems

Thanks again Amberwolf, I thought I'd seen info on that somewhere, but assumed that it was in the unofficial guide, where I couldn't find anything. Interesting though, as I was getting a flash of F, followed by P, so that at least confirms that the power that the CA thinks it should be adding...

Twin motor, CA V3 & PhaseRunnered Bosch Haibike build & teething problems

Slight delay to further investigations as I had a great day out in the mountains on Thursday, but having covered around 40 miles, I now have some nasty noises coming from the gearbox of the Bosch motor, so I need to pull that apart to see what's going on. One thing I did notice however, is that...
