Help with torque arm install on rear hub build

The first thing I would do is toss those cast C-washers and forget the one-piece TA. I've had cast POS's crack into pieces and make a real mess. Then you have plenty of room to stack flat washers out to a point where a two piece TA will line up to a chain stay arm. I've used cheap 2-piece TA's...

    LiPo batteries in parallel

My mistake, I still think people are talking about Lithum Polymer when they use the term Li-po and I should know better by now. The term Li-Po is really a misnomer IMO and used too casually. I would stand by what I said in reference to Lithum Polymer (w/ pouchs), but I suspect he really meant...

    LiPo batteries in parallel

Aw wrote; <<<If they're connected this way, then all of the cells in parallel with each other will remain at the same voltage both during charge and discharge.>>> Not w/ Lithum Polymer they won't. I've tried many times to use those balance lead Y-spliters and every time I ck'ed the cells...

    LiPo batteries in parallel

I think your idea is no bueno. If by LiPo, you mean Lithum Polymer, a Li-ion BMS won't work. Besides being different chemistries and hence different Voltage values (top, storage, ready to take a dive at too low a Voltage), parallel balancing Lithum Polymer cells doesn't work out. Think about it...

    DIY heated grips

I'm not following your installation approch, who wants a handfull of black tape? I think my suggestion of using foam grips is the way to go.

    DIY heated grips

All the "liner grid-types" are all the same. I wrapped the h.bars w/ one layer of blk elecrtical tape because it best to protect the grids, not sure if it was needed. I used foam grips like Grab-Ons, soaked in water to get them on, not hard, only need care needed was to not stress the wires.

    DIY heated grips

I used the Trackside type on motorcycles for years. I didn't care much for the switch (not sealed and fragile) and dropped it. and added a more sturdy on/off switch. I only wrapped tape around the H.bars (I'm not sure wrapping the grids is a good idea). On 12V they will provide plenty of heat...

    AKM-100H 350W motor configs 48V-328RPM vs 36V-201/260RPM

A little Q100/Cute history. I think the need/design process was actually the reverse. The standard free-wheel mounting hub motor came first and it was a while before the motor was redesigned to accept a cassette. About the same time the Q100C became avail., the Q100H was introduced. I alway took...

    AKM-100H 350W motor configs 48V-328RPM vs 36V-201/260RPM

Oh, and fitment, a 260 w/ a 9-speed free wheel comes out around 135 mm which is not too much to just spread the chainstays to get it in. It depends on the bike. The Q100 w/ a 9-speed CST is a little wider at 136 mm plus and that's enough to sometimes make fitment a little tricky. I often ran a...

    AKM-100H 350W motor configs 48V-328RPM vs 36V-201/260RPM

Sounds like you have probably read some of my posts, hard not to if one has serched "Q100/Cute". You could search more of them, but I'll try an answer what you want for your projected build in brief. All the Q100's are speed rated @ 36 Volts and that's only a standard for comparsion of speed...

    Decoding Bafang motor types

Sounds like the same Bafang that is known here as the "JUMP" motor because when the Uber CO. got out of ebikes, many of these motors were bought second-hand. You can seach "Jump motor" and get lot's of hits. I have one of these and a Bafang SWX02, which is the same thing, so I can also tell you...

KT Square wave vs sign wave

Well, I just ran a search for his products page,...nothing. Years ago, he built me a sm. 6 FET Mini-Monster, 25 Amps max in a box not much bigger than a pack of cig.s w/ a custom LVC. The thing was a hoot, on a frt. mounted mini-motor, it would spin the tire on dry pavement. Also had a 6 FET...

KT Square wave vs sign wave

Are we talking BPM? 22 A max seems a little low. It would be nice if you could find a 9 FET controller (not too big) in the 25 to 35A range. Don't worry about the differences between a "sine-wave vs.s square-wave, They're really not much difference in practice. A same-rated Square wave will...

2022? Lightweight Front or Rear Hub Motor for Road Bike to eBike Conversion

The Q75 is sensorless and that wouldn't be good on a single motored bike. And I'm not even sure if it will take a disc. When I was knee deep in mini motors, I looked at everything avail. at the time and kept comming back to the Q100 (Love/hate relationship). The problem with it, is the...

Super fun but is there more????

With another Frisby-sized motor and addidtional batt. added to it, that bike would weigh a ton. I would think 30 mph without any suspension would be enough.
