    inexpensive BRUSHED DC motor controller??

hey fechter! Not long after this post, I sheared the motor shaft on this kart. Had it sitting these last couple years. I decided to bring it back with a nice beefy motor, but was thinking about how someone posted a current limiting circuit... I searched and found this. You mentioned you would...

Using bicycle's frame as heatsink for the Phaserunner

I just want to point out that even if you put it in a bucket of room temp water, and kept the water at that temp, you EVENTUALLY will burn up the phase runner if you keep pulling maximum phase current from it. The thermal path from the mosfet die to the mosfet package can only support so much...

    more powerful brushed controller

heres a thread on the powerful $30 controller I used: https://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=83573 As long as you dont need current limiting or a voltage cutoff, it works well.

    more powerful brushed controller

yeah, I ran one of those on a massive DC kart motor until it melted the wires... they're pretty robust considering how simple they are.

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

I am both really happy you have your arduino throttle working.... and cringing at the block "programming" used. On the otherhand, its literally what I do for a living.

Why are more of you DIYers not in the e-bike business?

Im that guy. If I was at your shop, I would have bought your spokes for $30 to support you. I know I could buy the exact same spokes for $13 off the internet, but I did take some of your time. The larger problem is that most bicycle parts are cheap. Bicycles are incredibly simple and parts are...

    uhh... ok.

    Hearing protection while riding

well theres your problem. You bought a poser helmet with no real protection. Buy a real helmet, and the wind noise will be almost non-existant (and your face will stay pretty). For example, if you wanted to stick with Bell, Look at a Bell Star.

R Martin EVD Moped with HubMonster

If you happen to find one in the southeastern US, could you send me a PM? My brother is a bit of a moped/scooter fan and hes showing an interest in electrics. Id love to get him out of his modded GY6 stuff and into EVs... and if he doesnt like it, I'll ride the thing. lol.

    Wheelies

Correct. There are 2 basic types of wheelies. Balance point wheelies have the Center of Gravity of the bike balanced over the rear wheel. This takes almost zero power. If you want to accelerate, you need to dip the weight forward a bit first, and to brake you lean back further. These are the...

R Martin EVD Moped with HubMonster

Random thought... if you took one of those hub motors that bolted to the rim, and instead bolted a chainring on it... would it be a good choice for a gokart motor? I mean you could gear it up or down a bit to match the wheel size... although 1:1 is probably about right since you want good...

    Wheelies

I learned on 50cc pitbike motards... started with them, then dirtbikes, then sportbikes. wheelies on ebikes that have amp or torque based throttles is easy. wheelies on ebikes that use speed throttles or laggy throttles is a bit harder.

    Mini Boat

Thats pretty cool. I kinda want to make the boat equivalent of this: Something the size of yours with an enormous engine poking out of it. Sure an EV boat would be cool too, but it wouldnt have the same "joke" factor in it.

Anyway of making the R martins from china sold on Ali express road legal in U.S.

The act of importing them for road use is federal. The act of registering, titling and how you may drive them on the road is state. so its a mess.
