    Proper SLA battery charging

Just got myself another ebike and it came with 60V 20ah SLA batteries. Question is what is definitive maximum charging voltage of the typical 12V 20ah batteries that are sold today? Is it 13.5V or 14.7V when the charger turns green? I have seen chargers that say that it fully charges at 14.7V...

Lifepo4 prismatic cut off voltage question

that 55V charger is new, I just started using it. Prior to that I was using the old charger but range seemed to be cut drastically.... maybe the charger is failing and not really charging the pack as it was when it was new... I need to test the new charger more to find out if I at least get back...

Lifepo4 prismatic cut off voltage question

ah I have no link to the cell spec sheet as I am not sure exactly what cell it is or where they got it, all I know is that these are lifepo4 cells and they (reportedly) have 20ah of capacity.... that's it. I have been searching aliexpress but without knowing the brand or even the model or part...

    BMS question

I just thought of this a while ago.... is it possible to use a 16S Lithium ion BMS on a 13S lithium ion pack so there are 3 extra wires that are free? Similarly, is it possible to use a 20S 72V BMS on a 13S pack? its an exercise if I want to expand the pack from 48V to 72V without making a new...

Lifepo4 prismatic cut off voltage question

I was using the charger that came with the pack and it said 58.4V... but that charger blew a fan and I bought another one that charges to 54.6V. It maxes out the charging voltage to 55+V.... so I think I am now good there. Unfortunately I have no spec sheet for the lifepo4 cells since I bought...

Lifepo4 prismatic cut off voltage question

I have been using this 16S (58.4V) 20ah chinese prismatic lifepo4 (encased in aluminum) for more than 6 months now and for the most part, I like it except that the BMS that was originally installed has a rather high cut off voltage of 48V (or 3V per cell). My question is, will installing a BMS...

    54.6V charger on a 58.4V lifepo4 pack

even 1000 cycles on LFP is still better than 500 cycles max for lead acid, gel cel or VRLA with twice the weight and half the capacity for the same size.

    54.6V charger on a 58.4V lifepo4 pack

so you really do need to charge it when it nears 48V.... huh, never thought that was real on lifepo4... on 18650s, I routinely get to cutoff voltage before I charge... and the cells I use still good up to now... some of them are 4 years old and still good (even if they are just 60% of their...

    54.6V charger on a 58.4V lifepo4 pack

so, that "leaving the charger plugged in" routine is really useless and the voltage will eventually go down to 53-54V when the batts are in use.... hmm.... I might not want to buy that 58.4V anymore noting that charging to 58.4V will reduce the lifespan of my batts. I think this is also why...

    54.6V charger on a 58.4V lifepo4 pack

Can anyone clear this up for me? The Lifepo4 pack I bought from a store here in the Philippines is 48V 20Ah but came with a 54.6V charger.... It does work but I know it does not charge to full charge at 54.6V (@3.4V per cell) when full charge voltage for each cell is 3.6V, or 58.4V. The seller...
