I understand....This was the problem and I make up a 48v battery today as you said, and it rode as expected, nice and far again, plus a bit more distance with the few extra watt hours over the previous 36... I cut up the two batteries I was using before into one battery making 3 cells of 18amp...

Ok thanks for your input. It is a 36V controller not 48. So not sure the resistor to use on 36v. (56K?) Would you recommend placing the resistor jumping one end to the other of the parallel one? (the 1502 one, or one of the ones hidden under the redwire if it was say a 1202/1201)
