What happens to an ebike when it spends 2 days underwater?

Oh wow, spontaneous combustion in *asbestos*? That sucks. I'm really sorry you had to go through that. Sadly I know all too well about how the heat spreads around, having lost most of my stuff to a fire in my flat in my 20s (non-battery related, started in my flatmate's room so it was either...

Seeking frame options for a dual suspension ebike

Thanks for all the ideas guys! Yeah I know 26" will be a lot easier to come by. I guess I'm sort of attached to 29/700c after riding that size wheel for so long, plus I have spare tyres and so on. The little speed boost is also nice to have, although it's really only 3kph on the Grin...

What happens to an ebike when it spends 2 days underwater?

Fair enough. Hard to argue with that level of experience! Let's just say this battery's days are definitely numbered. In the meantime it's well supervised on charge, and stored in a non-flammable part of the (brick-walled) garage. If it went up in a worst-case fireball there's plenty of room...

What happens to an ebike when it spends 2 days underwater?

Heh. Yeah thanks :) I'm well familiar with lithium batteries and all their spectacular failure modes after flying racing drones for 10 years. :flame: At least this pack is relatively self contained. However, the usual common sense of not charging unattended applies doubly now!

What happens to an ebike when it spends 2 days underwater?

Thought this might be of interest to the community. I have a MAC motor / 14S5P Jumbo Shark from em3ev.com converted hybrid which was sadly flooded in February, when the Brisbane river broke its banks and I wasn't home to move the bike. After drying out I let it sit for ages. I figured it would...

Seeking frame options for a dual suspension ebike

Hi everyone, I've been riding a MAC converted hybrid ebike for years, but it's getting long in the tooth (and was recently underwater for several days which has... aged it somewhat...). I'm also getting a bit older and sick of Brisbane's bumpy roads so I'd really love to build up something...

    Speedict neptune lite

For my 20c I'd say just get yourself a little 12v buck converter. Current requirements would be super minimal for a light and maybe a few accessories. Probably the easiest way around it all. Then you can just run it straight from the main wiring harness, no need to tap into the BMS etc.

    EM3EV Bluetooth BMS App

No prob :) Good luck, it's not the best app ever... the password is the last four digits of your BMS serial number (as it appears in bluetooth devices when you scan).

Yes, you need a CC/CV power supply I believe though. That will output whatever the pack voltage is at the given current, until the pack voltage hits the cutoff, after which it will progressively reduce the current to 0. Unless the Neptune does this for you of course. I'm not super familiar with...

    EM3EV Bluetooth BMS App

Nope, sound of crickets... Not super impressed with this BMS at the end of the day. It doesn't balance very well and the app makes me log back in/reconnect to the bluetooth device every time it starts... a somewhat painful process...

    New em3ev batterý pack

    New em3ev batterý pack

Hey does anyone know the name of the charge port connector that em3ev use? It looks like a 3 pin mini DIN plug but it's slightly different... and the charger side is male. Am making up my own second charger out of existing 12-24v supplies (I have a lot of amps available) and a boost CC/CV module.

    EM3EV Bluetooth BMS App

Thanks! That looks like the manufacturer, judging by the products available and the app info. Unfortunately their website it a bit thin on detailed information and download links... I may shoot them an email but I suspect there will be a bit of a language barrier...
