Follow up to my post the other day QS205 metallic noise between 66-69kph freewheeling.
Ok so I opened up the motor - pulled both side covers.
No signs of severe heat damage - no burnt or discolored wires/coils
- both bearings spin smooth, very little play, well greased. No noise.
- Inspected...
Ok update: opened up the motor; bearings are like new, super smooth, magnets are all glued in. no signs of anything scraping around inside the motor, no burned or discolored wires. looks perfect. Im stumped. maybe the noise is just a perfectly normal resonance of some sort and the problem is...
In a video i watched, looked like a much bigger puller tool...like 8 or 10"... i'll have to do more digging on that.
Funny you mention temperature. the Onyx app is showing the motor temp is NEGATIVE 273 degrees (cold) lol.
Has an unstuck magnet ever been known to lock up a motor? even for a few seconds until it got crunched up?
would need a big gap to pop out of its seat I would think....looks like im gonna have to open and inspect...
(Onyx RCR with 41ah battery option)
riding ~1 summer no issues until now. While riding on a dirt trail, coasting down a hill rear wheel locked up or nearly locked up (not sure) - no it was not regen, not touching brakes. no explanation, just felt like extreme braking. after that it rolled again...
Maybe your comment was meant for OP - sorry don't mean to be hijacking this thread. that ninja 250 is using a 3000w continuous (6000w peak) motor capable of 70kph+ - that is way more power than i want/need. 1500w/3000 peak is much more achievable on a low budget. Also, I'm no stranger to...
cool, I havent decided on 20"24"or26" wheel yet, likely to go with 48v or 52v battery pack (price, availability) - what would you recommend for a 60kph top speed?
Thanks for the tip - had no idea about the larger freewheels - i like to pedal still, and increase range.
Why the Leaf motor over other options? Does it offer the best value/performance/features mix compared to others? I just started looking at the 1500-2000w options and its very difficult to...
Main thing im interested in is the motor choice. I am looking in the 1500 (cont/3000wpeak) power range to achieve around 60kph top speed, and would like to still have a 7 speed freewheel or ideally a 9 speed cassette on it. Fat rear tire, big skinny front for that "chopper" look lol. The QS205...
Hi Daniel, I was searching this forum for completed cruiser builds (still am actually) and came across your post. I'm looking to do something similar. - I want a cruiser style, because its really comfortable.
Right now, i have an Electra Lux fat bike XL (ebike converted) that a customer traded...
very cool build. I'm planning a "tamer" version of this - a bit less stretch but still low rider cruiser style, and around 1500w - so a more budget friendly build.
In your searches, maybe you came across similar frames but with a bit less reach? any suggestions?
Yes that was a simple mistaken assumption, but the word "worth" can certainly be taken to mean "market value". As in "this bike is worth $3000 on the used market."
It seems you have assumed I bought this bike new...I did not - i paid roughly half of retail used (what it's "worth" lol)...which...
