Giant Trance Dual Suspension daily commuter build

I prefer riding my Anthem. Possibly because the frame fits me better and it looks cleaner? Though, I do like things about the batteries mounted in the triangle of the extra large Trance frame. The Trance sticks to the road better when accelerating around a corner or trying to take off fast...

    Giant Anthem X BMC V3

Well I'm not a battery expert ... I have however messed with many packs of different chemistries over the years. When I got the first one of these I was completely hooked and I sold on here, my very nice lightly used other bike packs. Promptly thereafter, my second was from another ES member, at...

    40 mph club

Another ebike has crossed over the 40mph mark many times now, juiced by a simple 14s0p 10Ah battery.

    Giant Anthem X BMC V3

Update after a couple hundred miles... Wow! I like to ride this bike! It just feels right... must remember to ease into the throttle on takeoff or lean far forward. The 30A CA limit, via Ilia's mod, is perfect. The 52t chainring and 11t freewheel is a nice match until near the upper speeds...

    Giant Anthem X BMC V3

I've never tried a true long range test of this bike or my Trance ... but the electric parts are the same so I'd guess similar long run results. On my Trance I've ran at near 30mph for about 40mi with one short stop and the longest was just about 50mi at a very slow relaxed speed of other bikes...

    Giant Anthem X BMC V3

I found out real quick that the front wheel comes up and fast if I pop the throttle. I don't usually take off like that but had to find out if the front wheel comes up. Will have to set up my valet switch on this bike for sure, prior to letting somebody ride it. The CA's amp limit is set to 32...

    Giant Anthem X BMC V3

Thanks for the warning... and I hear ya! Though I figured the pin would be the weak link vs. the bolt ... hum... interesting. Well... I'm going to try this for awhile and hopefully I can notice some degree of loosening before it just snaps on me one day! Many rides with dual batteries on my...

    Giant Anthem X BMC V3

Finally took a day and finished solders and wrapped this bike up. Decided to put everything into a trunk bag after several placements... Spliced in 10awg wire and a step up for the 5 wire length too... No place to hide the wires and they need a place to flex with the suspension. So... now...

Your Creation's Before & After Pics

I really like that Surly! Oh so really close to getting one of those! My most recent bike finally got powered ... Been busy doing other things in life vs. messing with this bike and V3 parts through ebikes-sf ^^^ that I got last year. Anyway... here's the before: And here's the after: I...

Please help me electrify my trike...

I'm sure your CA is close enough :) I seldom even look at mine now. The 30A setting in the CA is about 1500W vs. 2500W without. Around 1000W is what I watch for on the CA and is so much easier to sustain with the limiter active. Makes for more enjoyable ride and helps keep my stupidity somewhat...

Please help me electrify my trike...

I wondered if you'd get that ... but pretty sure I was only doing 20mph or so...  My 30A CA limit cut in as I pulled off from beside you ... so that was my limited top speed.

Nice ride! How's the handling in our bike lanes at those speeds?

    Henry111's free tech support thread

There are e-options that are perfect for just about any type of bike. My Opinions/Experiences: - Very few surfaces around me work well for >18mph with road style ebikes that I've experienced. - Street edges and bike lanes have junk in them that I didn't noticed when peddling only. - Large tires...

Would you trade your home built bike for an optibike?

Trade my home assembled bike for an optibike? Yes, of course, without hesitation! Noise might drive me a bit nuts. But it would probably give me incentive to finish my other ebike assembly for quiet rides again. I've 3 of those little 10Ah batteries that extremegreenmachine mentions. One is...
