    Brake sensor for Cycle Analyst

Slight necro of the thread here, but this is basically exactly what I'm interested in doing. Haven't had a ton of luck figuring out anything workable yet and would be curious to read that thread if you've got a link?

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Ohhhhh, yeah, folks may have missed them. I've condensed them here: "Haha thanks, the candor here in this message is noticed & appreciated." "Thanks for the idea." "Anyways, eminently grateful for the mass of follow-on messages that have opened my eyes a bit" "Very grateful for the many...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Yeah, was originally hoping there'd be just enough play in the sliders that I could get away with forcing them a hair out of parallel/resting state configuration. Figured it was kind of a long shot, but initially wanted to try. Now realize this is definitely not going to work :). Currently...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Haha thanks, the candor here in this message is noticed & appreciated. This community really does seem to have a ton of knowledge to share, and I'm grateful that I get to pick up this knowledge for free. As a bit of context for where my head is at, I teach woodworking classes & help run a...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Intriguing! I definitely will have to keep the bike outside, which is a major bummer (but totally inescapable given my living situation for the foreseeable future) for maintenance and such, but if that could get my gf actually riding -- totally worth it. It still helps that my plan for her...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Yeah, same. Good perspectives in this thread. Has made me reconsider what sort of risks I'd be willing to take in order to smooth out my ride. Went from a "yeahhh, there's maybe some safety issues here, but a smooth ride 😍😍😍" to "yeahhh, probably not worth it, should find an alternative...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Yep, it's a 675 square foot townhome, AND I live there with my girlfriend. DC real estate, man. I'd love to have a second bike, but am unfortunately stuck with this one alone for the time being. My bike has to live outside, which is why the "maintenance free" option of a belt drive + internal...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Yeahhhh, appreciate the perspective here. "It’s easy to get carried away in the pursuit of solutions to problems,"... haha oooof, feeling seen here 😬😬😬 I initially posted because I'm admittedly not knowledgeable enough to know what I don't know on the subject of swapping forks. Thanks for the...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Yeah, I generally try to avoid the wet & icy. My bike has an internal gear hub on the rear wheel & is a belt drive, so I'm kinda locked into FWD unfortunately.

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Riding_on, glennb, and E-HP, thanks for the genuine responses. The stuff you've each shared is both illuminating and somewhat alarming. E-HP, I don't have lawyer lips on the new suspension fork, but the dropouts certainly aren't what I'd call beefy. Your points about thickness are helpful...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Nah, not reading that, nor engaging with either of you guys any further. Can you both quit responding so others (like the first two posters) might offer their advice?

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Not bent out of shape, just really confused. Their conception and my conception really at strong odds. From that it tonally became "you're a smarmy little brat for thinking you know better" from internet strangers I've never met. Weird. People here don't even know the mechanic! Maybe he's a...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

What is the deal with people here? I'm trying to learn. I'm looking for kindness and not being belittled. That's it! Am I on 4chan? Jesus. Pro tip: people that are requesting help often need things spelled out simply!

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

Rich, Yeah, I hadn't considered a second torque arm. It's a good idea. Suspension fork I purchased isn't necessarily a mountain bike fork (realize there isn't a hard-and-fast definition), but I imagine still decently robust (Amazon.com). I saw two things from the snide goofball's post above...

Not reading your message, Chalo. Will read others that aren't weirdly hostile or suggest *anyone* lean into being scoffed at, though! Happy to see this forum has an "ignore" function :)
