    Eastwood’s first battery build

Thank you! Yes that thread was very useful. Thank you for all the useful information! Thanks! OK, all 3 of you have talked me into using a fuse. makes complete sense that a fuse is always necessary. As far as putting it inside the battery, there is no extra space. For the location of the...

    Eastwood’s first battery build

So it’s been a while since I’ve updated this thread. I’m still working on the battery and and will post more pictures once I get finished. So I have a question as far as using a fuse or not. Since I’m using a BMS with overcurrent protection would I still need to use a fuse? I’m leaning toward...

Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

I say the more power and acceleration the better! 🤠 As long as the motor can shed the heat, why not right! Do you ever ride in wet conditions? If you don’t, you could consider modifying the side plates with holes and using some type of screen or filter. I’ve always wanted to put fans in a hub...

New battery how do I connect it???

This price point is not realistic, You can’t just buy the cheapest possible battery and assume that it’s safe. AliExpress is a safe place to order, never had an issue. Probably should’ve done more research on batteries before buying the cheapest possible battery. I understand that you have to...

    QS138 V3 70H sprocket cover

You would think by now a sprocket cover would be easy to find since the qs138 has been out for a couple of years. Looks like I’ll probably end up having to make one by hand. Have a couple of ideas how I could do it, but there’s many things on the list before that.

    QS138 V3 70H sprocket cover

Just now seeing your message. Your bike looks sweet! It looks so nimble with those small wheels, I bet it’s a blast to ride. And yes, I hear you on keeping the bike spotless. Even though this is a dirtbike that gets muddy, I typically clean it really good after every ride. with my E...

    crf450r 45kw race bike build

Sorry to hear about the defective parts! I can certainly see how frustrating that can be. I think we’re all excited to see your bike up and running, you’ve done a great job with this build. And to be fair, I think your existing controller is too small anyway. That CL1400 would be better match...

    Suzuki RMZ 250 EV Restomod

Thanks! Well sort of, it’s 3 x 1/0awg off the battery but then that connects to 0000awg going to the Contactor, controller etc.. It’s over kill but Just trying to maximize efficiency With Connecting one single cable to the discharge busbar, could possibly create a hotspot. If you can spread...

    Suzuki RMZ 250 EV Restomod

Thank you 🤠 Hopefully I can finish this battery build soon and start connecting everything like the BMS, contactor, etc.. Almost there, slowly but surely 👍

    Suzuki RMZ 250 EV Restomod

Yes exactly, because of the off-road use. I would’ve settled for some high temperature thread locker if I were building a bike for the street. Also, I was concerned that if one of those nuts came loose and started bouncing around inside the battery it could cause a short. Yes, I put epoxy on...

    Suzuki RMZ 250 EV Restomod

Will have to put the lugs underneath the positive discharge busbar because I'm not able to slide the top of the battery in the bike without hitting the frame if the lugs are on top. It’s a super tight fit but doable 🤠 So I resurface the top of these lugs and now they have much better surface...

    Suzuki RMZ 250 EV Restomod

Well, with this battery all the contact points have rubber between with various density depending on the location. Technically there is some movement but it’s very minimum, just enough movement to help with absorbing vibration. Thanks for the input. Yes, I’ve use this method before it works...

Air-full tire on hub motor for e-scooter

And just to be clear about your question, it almost sounds like you’re asking if you can put a tire directly on the hub motor? So that’s not going to work because you need to lace the hub motor into a rim and that would be too big to put on a scooter. What type of scooter do you have? Pics?

    Wiring problems

Yeah and I noticed it has a brown wire as well so maybe it is for the display. Sure looks Close to the hall sensor wires that plug to the motor. The original poster needs take a picture of the entire controller so we can see all of the wires coming out of the controller.

    Wiring problems

Blue, yellow, and green are your halls sensors wires… Black is ground and red is 5v. The white wire normally is a temperature sensor or speed sensor wire.

Try unplugging the brake cut off sensor wires and see if that fixes the issue.

    Suzuki RMZ 250 EV Restomod

So there’s a slight gap between the battery and the case I would rather there be contact between the battery and case so the rubber can help absorb vibration. I slid this into place, Looks like a perfect fit. When I add layers of rubber together, I use black adhesive sealant silicone RTV...

    Suzuki RMZ 250 EV Restomod

Well I do feel like this build has pushed me to the limit of my patience 😅 I’m ready to ride some trails, it’s been months since I’ve ridden which is too long for me. All is good though, I’ll keep chipping away until I get this bike finished. Thanks What Spacers are are you referring to, the...

    QS138 V3 70H sprocket cover

The main reason to cover the sprocket is just to prevent mud being thrown on the back of my battery case. Has more to do with keeping moisture off the battery case that it does anything to do with the sprocket. I ride in some pretty muddy conditions while riding in the mountains. The top of...

    QS138 V3 70H sprocket cover

Thank you 🤠 Sure don’t, wish I did. I’m sure somebody on ES has the STL, as this motor has been out for several years. I can make one by hand. I just have so many other things to finish up on this dirtbike build. Basically need the sprocket cover to prevent the chain from throwing mud on the...
