    Interesting canoe paddle with motor..

This paddle turned up at my work, I thought it might be of interest, or somebody might know who made it.. It has a motor in the bulbous part of the paddle, a simple thumb switch in the handle and can be connected to a car battery. The prop is a model aircraft variety and seems to have a limited...

    Charging problem, inrush current

I am using an 900W Kingpan KP-B charger for my 72V pack, this works fine on my 240V AC domestic sockets/outlets . However when I try to plug it into the public charging points it has tripped them off a couple of times. I can only assume this is due to inrush currents either going into the...

    Motor delaminating

I was stripping my motor to replace the bearings and noticed that the outer laminations are peeling away. Can I just glue them back in place? I assume this is from when water got trapped inside and couldn't escape. I've drilled a small vent hole in the casing so any moisture can steam off when...

Running different models of charger in parallel

I have three different chargers for 72V lifepo4, they all seem to be isolated (no continuity between input and output ). One is 10A Chinese made, one 7A Chinese made and my own homwbrew 7A version made from a pair of Meanwells. Could I run them all in parallel to get a 24A charge rate?

    G/F BMS strange behavior

I have a Goodrum/Fechter 24S BMS version 2.6, It works well with my 24S2P Headway pack. I tried it on my 24S5P A123 pack and it seemed to struggle to balance the pack, this was after 24hours on charge. I took a timelapse of what it was doing over 2 hours. Ab1DzZG197A It seems 4 cells...

Could anyone recommend a controller for this 4KW hub

I am trying to get an e-max scooter to run on 72V (they are 48V stock) I have tried it with an 18fet infineon but that got hot and soon blew the fets. I was pulling 5kw at the time according to my CA. It also cogged badly at low speed and when running at 20mph it smoothed out, but there would...

    A123 cell has a puncture,is it usable?

I just received my A123 cells from Victpower, I found one with a cut in the bottom. It also had some droplets of liquid on it, I'm not sure if this came out of the cell, it looks like air has got into the pouch so it doesn't feel as rigid as the others (I guess they are vacuum sealed). the cell...

How do I get a meanwell to run off 72VDC?

I need to step my 72V pack voltage down to 48V, to run the lights and switchgear on my E-max 110s scooter see http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=38617. I bought a 48V 2A meanwell supply for this purpose, but it won't show any signs of life when fed from my pack (79V)...

    E-max 110s lifepo4 upgrade

[Edit:] 2/6/2014 For anyone looking to do this I would advise staying with the 48V setup and getting the controller reprogrammed, If you really want extra speed go for a 3.5 KW/h lithium pack to lighten the bike and over volt to 84V or more with a new controller (Adaptto Max-E, Sabvoton...
