    Does a multi-gear system accelerate faster than a hub motor?

    I was thinking that if I change from my golden motor 901 at 48 volts/1000 watts to a gear driven 1000 watt power system driving my rear derailer, I could accelerate faster? I know that I can gear the top end faster since hub motors hit the voltage limit and reduce power, wheras a geared system...
