Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Wow Dave I am impressed.....that is definitely the longest ebike beating I have witnessed. Of course it is easy to criticise riding technique in retrospect, but we all know in the heat of the moment throttle usually equals fast. I bet just smoothing out the corners and carrying more speed...

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Yes 12s capable. Though I do believe a low Kv is required and a few have fried DRV chips (from memory) maybe 195 might be low enough. At a guess id say there would be a ERPM limit due to the current sensing and everything else going on. Vedder seems conservative with his recommendations and...

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Hey Dave, have you tried riding the bike with a simple throttle interface instead of the CA? I gather you probably limit the power to keep the derailleur etc happy. If you haven't already seen it, there is a controller being developed in the E Skateboard section of ES called VESC. It is doing...

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

just to confirm did you exchange nyko for nyko or another brand? There doesn't appear to be many options....(when you rule out the really cheap looking ones for obvious safety reasons)

    And then there were three.......

for my aussie/kiwi friends  looks dangerous Matt, I like it. I am surprised the chain can cope with it. Thought of putting that power on a gokart yet? Rodger

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

If you use the Wii remote that Ben and jacobbloy have been working on, you can press and hold the cruise button after a few kicks and it will maintain that speed.

So I bought a lathe...and made Hub Motors

lucky he was wearing leather..... re: eBay wheels. Its the shipping that kills it for us aussies. If they came from china it might be better but USPS is $$$$. I can nearly buy genuine ones for the price of the knock offs ~$80 vs $100 aud. (not the 97mm) Are you still evolving your design...

are they 90mm wheels? where do you guys buy the knockoff flywheels from....they all seem really expensive.

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

with the small amount of playing I've had on 'thru the derailleur' drive bikes I have realised that if I made one for myself I wouldn't try to match the peak motor rpm to peak cadence.....you have a throttle after all. Instead give more headroom to the lower gears so you can climb those...

20 inch full suspension street build (now with twin motors)

ha, I have the same issue with it overshooting randomly, even set for something silly like 30A it will still pull like a train for a split second sometimes. Though mine is a BETA version of the RC-CA, I have fiddled with it endlessly to try and solve it.....but never looked at the ESC settings...

Using a mosfet as a switch?

This has been done before....methods i think had a design he was working on. And there is this one ..... https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=54225. I would take 10 if I could get my hands on them

    GCinDC's new DH COMP.....project aborted

hahaha I was only thinking the other day that the frame is ridiculous.....I cannot get a good chain line no matter what I do with it. They are destined to be Hub bitches and that is that! I am returning to my already cut and f***** stinky in an attempt to use my neugart + 80100. Im glad I am not...

RC Mid drive project - trial/freeride style

well that blows that theory then. Try a HV160 just to check that it is not the controller creating the heating. Then I guess you have 2 options, rewind or increase V.

RC Mid drive project - trial/freeride style

That video isn't mine....just a demonstration of the power you should have. You might have more torque per amp but the higher the rpm, the more multiplication is done via reduction. Did you weigh the stator before and after rewind?

RC Mid drive project - trial/freeride style

Im pretty sure it might of been thud that experimented with the max rpm of these motors....from memory the efficiency went out the window close to the factory 130kv wind on 12s so 6500rpm, forgive me if I am wrong. I seem to remember thinking that if I ever rewound mine it would be for the same...

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

points taken....I am a noob when it comes to anything like that. It would be cool if it were able to be built by someone with some patience and simple tools....and easier to replace components.

So I bought a lathe...and made Hub Motors

do you mean if you run a normal wheel on your truck that is modified on both sides? I assumed when you made that slip over extension its offset would be the same as original? if that isn't the case what stops you from extending it further or moving the motor out more?

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

Just throwing it out there......how large would a vesc get if it were made with thru-hole components and headers for stm & drv (if thats even possible) ?

have you tried 1wd yet pediglide? I am interested to know what it would be like for flat ground cruising.....obviously not a power monster.....just better than kicking

Fast electric longboard – Dual hub motor

Take this picture of a outrunner..... You are replacing the shaft (top right) with the axle of the truck. However the truck doesn't need to spin like the original shaft does so it will become part of the stator and so doesn't need to be isolated with bearings. Without bearings the inside of...

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

There is far too many threads on this esc already but I propose using this thread for the continuation of the debug/beta testing instead of having multiple snippets of information across several threads. So from my perspective, I am excited to participate in beta testing, I am comfortable with...

New Board build - Help please -

Thanks for chiming in bandaro I can surf and skate, the lowish speed requirement is just so that if or when I have to climb a hill I know I can. And it will be ridden mainly around people walking and on footpaths so its safer if I don't attempt going faster  . Anyone that rides it will be...

New Board build - Help please -

Hi guys, I have been part of ES for quiet a while now, but never considered powering a skateboard till a few weeks ago when I watched a local down the beach on an e-go. So the bug bit and here we go..... I have come to the decision to use mainly Enertion parts as I like to support a fellow...
