Interesting alternative to hobbyking/astro motors - hacker motors..

I cannot say anything in particular about that Hacker motor. However, quite a long time ago (5+ years ago) one of my hobbies was playing around with RC-cars. At that time Hacker and also Plettenberg (both German brands) were known for their top notch quality and high efficiency. I owned one...

Very nice build!! Really awesome and very nice design you came up with initially (the sketch). I will be following this.

    E-Ducati Build

Very nice build! I will be following this one. I'm also planning to use the same motor for a project. Good luck :) Which Chinese supplier are you using for the milling?

    Mid-Drive 80100 : my project !

I also searched for a long time for detailed specs on these motors, but could never find anything useful. I think it doesn't exists because it is a motor intended for hobby purposes. My Castle Creations 160HV measured over 13.000 Watts with 10S, however I don't know how reliable that measurement...

Very nice clean build! Was it hard to program the sevcon? I have read stories about the programming which is very hard to do.

Help me choosing a 10kW continuous system

Hi Macribs! Thank you for your reply, very nice information you're providing. I like the DLC 28 motor, however I prefer to buy something new to prevent any trouble in case something doesn't work. Also I prefer to have it air cooled instead of liquid cooled, makes my life easier. Buying this...

Help me choosing a 10kW continuous system

I suppose that is 18kW peak? The motor looks rather small. I cannot find any datasheet on their website either? What kind of motor do you use in your setup? Would you recommend this controller with the 10kW Goldenmotor?

Help me choosing a 10kW continuous system

Hi all! For a new project I am searching for a very powerful brushless system. My previous bikes were all build with RC components, topping out at 13kW peak power. Now, I am looking for more power, much more... I am seeking for help choosing a plug and play system for my new project. It will...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

Just curious, how did you blow the APS ESC? User fault or ESC fault? Small update on this topic. I switched the amp limit on the Castle ESC from 240A to 280A. This gives a little bit more power, which I can definitely feel in how much easier it wheelies  The smile on my face also...

    Another 2-speed dogbox

I also like the idea of a 2-speed dogbox a lot. Making a housing and a shaft is not that big of a deal, but making custom gears costs a lot of money. I would also be interested in a supplier who sells stuff like this. Something like sdp-si.com, but they only sell regular spur gears. Does...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

I used the APS throttle in the past, I switched back to the Magura throttle however. I don't remember how I connected these two, but it should be more or less the same as the Magura throttle as far as I remember. I will have a look if I maybe have pictures of the throttle connection, but I doubt...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

I don't drive on streets with heavy traffic, so I never came across police yet. I don't know what I would do if I saw them actually  Its running great, no problems at all! I am very happy with it, its very reliable. It might look edgy and sharp on the photos, but its not that bad I...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

I received three SLS printed parts out of Nylon. Originally they were white, I painted them black. They function as: - Sprocket/chain cover - Motor cover and extra cooling (two 40mm fans, one blowing in wind from the back of the motor, the other one from the side) - Electronics and wiring cover...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

Up till now only for fun rides (hard accelerating and braking) in areas without too much traffic. Occassionaly I drive in the forrest, but the throttle is very sensitive and with all the bumps and imperfections in the road it leads to unwanted/uncontrollable wheelies. Also the range is limited...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

Walk around. JMgVEpT4aTU Plastic motor, gearing and wiring cover still not ready. I am optimizing the airflow in the motor cover. Also ordered a new sprocket for the 100+ km/h run. But I will do that speedrun once this bike gets too boring for me, which will take a while I think

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

I saw you found the topic for connecting the throttle to a RC ESC. I run the motor sensorless and I am quite happy with the start up. However, always start pedal to get it going and after that start with applying throttle. (If you don't do this, you might blow the ESC) I did use the Alien...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

I think I had 2 of them, both having programming problems. The biggest problem for me was that sometimes the ESC went full throttle out of nothing. Luckily this only happened with the wheel in the air. It might be due to faulty sensors in the motor itself, but I really have no clue. Original...

    Number One - 11.000 Watts

You're right. But I think it will be pretty expensive to design a frame and weld it by a professional welder and also do the heat treatment. I might build an own frame for my next build, I have been playing with ideas in my head which are similar to the "divergent blade". It's a car chassis made...
