connections for? EcityP Smart S5-13 BMS

No idea about DN1 - but U4 and U7 should be transistors. Why do you ask - or in other words - what are you trying to do? Depends on what you want to do achieve. You can do the balancing for 18/20s - maybe even LV/ HV / over current cutoff on the bms connected to the lower half of your battery...

picoBMS - LTC6804 - open source, open hardware build

let's assume for one moment, that I have bought dozen of bms available on the market from 20 to 350$ and have made some experiences with / evaluated those and I'm not just saying hey why don't I build a bms monkey who finds a banana style. as to your input: yes, worst case scenario 11 full...

picoBMS - LTC6804 - open source, open hardware build

Imho high current balancing for diy builds is not that bad of an idea since you can hack battery packs from used cells more easy. Also I can easily reduce the balancing current through pwm'ing the resistors quite easily. Focus is on low standby power (hence this MCU).

how to program a sevcon gen4

^^ is that even possible? Can you reflash a non Hall Gen4 version to hall? Has this been done? Are there no hardware differences?

picoBMS - LTC6804 - open source, open hardware build

The BMS itself won't do overcurrent protection. For my use case fuse + correct current/lv settings at controller level will do. I will optionally build an overcurrent/contactor module.

picoBMS - LTC6804 - open source, open hardware build

So it does finally happen. I couldn't find a useful BMS for the electric kickboard I'm working on - so I'm having a friend of mine build one. Specs are roughly: 38x65mm 0.5a balancing current <= 12S, daisy-chainable, RS485 3 temperature sensors (bleeding, battery pack) MCU EFM32ZG108...

Just to make the info available to others: In addition to the above: The HM-10 will work exactly the same. What you can do - if you don't want to fiddle with the OSX, Linux, Windows integrated bluetooth drivers is this setup: (trying to draw with words) USB Serial (e.g. el cheapo) <-> HM-10...

how to program a sevcon gen4

Just fyi I'm in about the same situation. I'm in the process of tuning a Heinzmann PMS 120. So far I have it spinning and will now contact Sevcon about the latest firmware. I also have "some" working dcf from an ES user that will need a different firmware - and to his experience the motor can't...

With the Design as it is I would guess somewhere around 60+A. Time to get your hands dirty. Take a thermal camera and go for it.

You don't even need 12 fets - just optimize the layout for heat dissipation. At the moment the opposing fets heat each other. Also optimize the design so you can use heatsinks or screw the whole controller to some metal. The irfs3006 fets can do 240A!

Do you supply each "side" individually from the DRV8302 buck converter? or are these paralleled (how?)? How much current is anticipated / needed on the 5V / 3.3V rails? Could it make sense to have one DRV8302 do the 3.3V rail, the other the 5v one? Regarding thermal design - it could make...

So I bought a lathe...and made Hub Motors

The way you fasten the tires that was bound to happen. Think about fitting the tire to a thin aluminium/steel tube with suitable glue! that goes with a light press-fit + screws with screwlock onto your motor (if you don't want to directly glue the tire to the motor)

Is there already a wiki page regarding the various configuration options for this esc? I'm specifically interested in tuning the Vedder ESC concerning startup torque. I have the esc working with a 6" hub motor and the startup torque is good in hybrid mode (but it doesn't sound too nice). Also...

    8mm Gold plug "oxidation"

So these were on a claimed 10kw RC motor. They look like there was a lot of sparking on the inside but not the contact face. The connectors might have become wet - does that explain it? Since I can't really explain this, maybe someone can elaborate.

Congrats. Also on documenting the build here. Try a coupling with some flex like this if you're having problems with the rigid one.

Is it configurable with the Motormind GUI? If so there should be an option for "external speed control" where you can enable analog or pwm or servo pulses.
