im just wondering why it says "equal stiffness" comparison then

Mold a frame stronger than carbon fiber?

it claimed that a blend of 19% carbon fiber - 71% tegris had the same stiffness as carbon fiber. unless i read something wrong

    Controller: E-ABS, Energy Feedback...???

i inquired about this before on the sphere and didnt get much. im told that regen on my controller is turned off, so is abs. but it has that label. i wish i could get some info how to turn these on. it uses the same terms on mine. e-abs energy feedback mute oh, im pretty sure mute is to...

    (under)Grad Project in the making

the controllers say they have E-ABS, energy feedback and mute features. im guessing mute is the part that kills power to the motor when you brake. does energy feedback mean regenerative braking? (and E-ABS along with it) i know i already asked this in my OP but there's a lot of writing and...

    The Harley Davidson Electraglide Build

if i was the OP i'd try to hit up sam texas for a steel suspension fork. if not, do the build how you're gonna do it, but i completely agree with a high strength epoxy and some of doc's torque arms. heck even if you get the steel fork, why not?

    (under)Grad Project in the making

yeah, i actually included all of that -- except what i plan on doing for charging -- into my post (but i admit, its lengthy to read) charging will be simple (exterior mounted shielded xlr connector with matching connector on the charger), i have a bms, and i will be using a key master switch...

ID for this vpower controller? Infineon 12 FET? Keywin /XPD?

were you guys able to find anything elsewhere? im looking for the same info

    (under)Grad Project in the making

here's what im starting with: Thats a cheap motiv frame i picked up and the remnants of the bike after i tore it apart to use the frame, shifter(s? maybe just one gear set, idk yet), derailleur(s) and whatever else. the brakes are used from recycled cycles in the U-district...

help with current limiter switch (knob)

sooo im just going to assume that will work then. also, i'll be using 2 controllers spliced to one throttle, so will i need to anchor this current limiter to both controllers or just one?

help with current limiter switch (knob)

oh! i totally didnt see that haha thank you. so if i dont want the trim pots (becaude i dont need upper or lower levels) can i just do this:

Upload Your Circuit Schematics & Requests Here...

http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=33064 thats a thread i created for my issue. i thought posting here would be a good idea as well. i got some 10k audio taper pots so its more of a ramp up control instead of a linear control. either way, i couldnt find small Ohm trim pots...

    Single Speed Freak!!

i was thinking about just doing a singlespeed (only the top gear), or maybe only having the rear derailleur and having the chain fixed to the biggest cog on the crank. for an ebike i think im looking for the most simple solution possible. but i also want to be able to pedal with it hard while...

help with current limiter switch (knob)

i want to build this schematic: i found it in the schematics page here and im just wondering mainly, how do i put a shunt in there. like where do i get a shunt? ive seen them on electric cars how they're like a chunk of brass w/ a known resistance so you can read voltage off of it but i'm...

trying to figure out what brakes to use

i ended up getting some arch rival 4s out of the brake bin at recycled cycles. theyre in really good shape, i also got some extra pads. the guy at the shop told me they'd be adequate (and i just dont have the money after buying all the other parts for the bike to spend $200 on a disc brake setup)

trying to figure out what brakes to use

pm sent. im heading over to recycled cycles right now to see what they have. hopefully i'll have some sort of progress when i get back

trying to figure out what brakes to use

im pretty sure i can't use hydraulic brakes due the the fact that im using the brake levers that cutoff power to the motor when pulled (the ones that come in an ebike kit)

trying to figure out what brakes to use

the fork i have is fine, i was just thinking about replacing it to use w/ disc brakes. im thinking about going with shimano acera v brakes? they seem to get really good reviews and theyre pretty cheap. still may go w/ a disc up front if i can get a fork for cheap

trying to figure out what brakes to use

thanks for the link! and thanks to google chrome i dont have to try to translate everything from german to english using babelfish lol. i'll definitely watch that auction when it gets closer to the end. im thinking im going to spend $50 on a new fork, already have disk brakes off the donor bike...

trying to figure out what brakes to use

i dont think i'll be going much faster than that. my guess is the bike at 48v will only go about 30mph even with dual motors, it will just get up to speed way quicker. i did an ebay and local craigslist search and couldnt find anything under that name. theres quite a few good bike shops and...

trying to figure out what brakes to use

thanks for the quick reply! thats pretty much what i figured, just hoping someone else had luck with one of my crazy ideas before do you think its worth it to get a new for w/ disc break mounts? also, what type of puller/brake type would you recommend/ maybe one that you use and have had good...

trying to figure out what brakes to use

i am building a dual motor 2kW (but able to be limited to 750 Watt to meet federal regulations) setup for my grad project to kind of showcase the feasibility of an electric bike. you can still have some thrill and speed from this thing but at the same time limit the power to increase the range...
