Standardizing DB37 connector pinout for up to 32s

I have a 24s2p pack of LiPo 5aH bricks with Methods parallel boards and x2 Hyperion 1401 balance chargers on their own power supplies. I want to be able to balance charge with a single DB37 connection to my pack. I was thinking of creating a balance board with the layout and pinout below. I...

I keep blowing fets after an accident

I'm having problems with my 184115 as well. I got the bike assembled and took it out for its test run..... only ran it up to 25 mph for about a 1/2 mile run, and it started cogging on me. Halls look fine, motor phases look fine, but when the motor is connected to the controller, the wheel...

    GCinDC's Giant DH Comp

I've been thinking about the leakage and I have a couple of ideas I'd like to float to the forum for feedback: 1) Could you pull a slight vacuum on the motor housing, so that when the oil heats up the internal pressure rises, but not above atmospheric pressure? 300 ml of ATF heated from 20C to...

Power supply to use with Hyperion 1420i

    Ok, I think I get this now...... I'll try to write this out so it makes sense to me and see if it makes sense to you. MW SP-750-24 Max output = 24V x 31.3A = 751.2W / 120VAC = 6.3A / 85% eff = 7.4A input << 20A garage breaker Feathermerchantrc.com max output = 24V x 47A = 1128W / 120VAC...

Power supply to use with Hyperion 1420i

I'm also in the market for x2 Hyperion 1420i power supplies - but I'm admittedly a little confused about what I need. The Hyperion is rated for 550W / 24V = 23A; The Meanwell SP-750-24 can pull 31 amps.... are you running this off of 240VAC? Or how do you prevent tripping your 20A garage...

Charging/balancing lipo without reconfiguring wires? Is ther

Methods parallel boards and HVC breaker is the route I've chosen (see For Sale - New Items area). Attached is a couple of sketches - one for bulk charging a 24s2p setup that builds on a sketch that Ryan had done earlier - this would be a single PP plug mounted into the Pelican 1300 battery...

ebikessf will loan out the tool with a deposit of $350. That may be with the purchase of a Schlumpf, but they may accomodate you. There is also a video of how to do the chamfering... looks pretty easy to me.. kind of like sharpening a pencil. http://www.ebikessf.com/schlumpf-hs

I received my Hyperion's today... forgot to order the network cable.. damn. Still struggling over how I should power them.... Is it better to buy a Meanwell SE-600-27 or SE-600-24? Are the clones just as good and where can I buy them? Any help here would be much appreciated.

    12s1p-36V20Ah LiFePo4 BMS Charging

So I'm looking at purchasing x2 Meanwell SE-600-27. http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_295911_-1?CID=GOAW Does this seem like the right way to power these chargers? I'm assuming that this model is preferred to the SE-600-24 since its adjustment range is...

    Steve's Stinky Build - Feedback?

    - I've been reading ES forums for months and I am just getting into my first electric bike build and would appreciate some feedback on my plan. - I'm aiming to hit a modest 35-40 mph top speed, average 25 mph. This is for starters, so I want the ability to increase voltage & amps. Ebike...

Keyne's DH Comp Build - now with liquid cooled HX35! :)

How about deionized (distilled, ultrapure) water? I've seen large industrial switchgear built by General Electric for a 15 kV - 23,000 HP electric drive cooled with deionized water. It is non-conductive. I found a few references to it being corrosive to some materials, but it appears that...

A123 20Ah cells price down to 17.50$ per cells?

What about a clamped system that uses copper or aluminum 19mm x 90mm x 6.4mm bars on the outside, and 19mm x 160mm x 7.25 non-conductive bars on the inside to compress the tabs. Cells would alternate positive & negative tabs, 3/16" bolts would have non-conductive sleeves & washers. Balance...
