What kind of helmet do you use?

I chose a Bell Stoker Helmet. I saw it in my local bike store for $75.00 but I found the same helmet at Competitive Cyclist for around $36.00 Delivered. ttp://www.competitivecyclist.com/bell-stoker-helmet?cmp_id=EM_competitivecyclist_DDM64_M1 One major reason why I chose this helmet is...

Have you experienced bad vibes from traditional bikers?

Here is a picture of the bike. Some unique features is that it's dual suspension MTB with Sissy Bars. So I ride very comfortably in upright position instead of Hunched over. In addition I have dual disc brakes that are controlled by just one lever. Very ergonomic the dual dic break lever is on...

Have you experienced bad vibes from traditional bikers?

In my area, Ontario-Chino California, there are so few bikers I rarely run into one. And I've only seen one electric bike one time in the past 3 years. So just about no one is riding ebike out here. May be because the bike Lanes are just about nonexistant and not well maintained. The other day...

    Cyclone 3000w vs Bafang 8fun 1000w

This may or may not be pertinent. I had a 48V 15ah Ping battery. On my rear wheel HBS 48V 1000Watt Motor. The cables for the motor were thinner then the controller and would get very hot. They are fused together. The Ping 48v [Lipo 4 Technology] is more or less equivalent to a 52V Battery...

Cars Cutting Me Off: Do Horns Help?

My lights are USB rechargable. I use this as my strobe light and have a triple light system I bought years ago for my front light. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-SolarStorm-5000LM-2x-CREE-T6-LED-Front-Bicycle-Bike-Light-Head-lamp-Battery-/121794493682?hash=item1c5b847cf2:g:4IEAAOSw14xWOyJ1 Very...

    Anybody else use throttle only?

I don't have pedal assist. I use the pedals to start from standstill and I lightly pedal along. I had a especially large gear wheel added so I can pedal at 30 MPH. Can't remember if it's 52t or 60t. I feel more stable on my bike when pedaling and I like getting a little exercise.

    E-cigarette in man's pocket explodes

We don't know for sure that it was an ecig. Many carry batteries in there pockets and change can short the battery. Also we don't know the type of battery he was using a Lithium Manganese chemistry is much safer. The cheap trustfire or any battery with fire at the end are downright dangerous...

Which electric bike is a smarter choice?

For San Fransisco 250 Watts if that's the actual motor Wattage doesn't seem like much. Max of 16mph - 18mph didn't do much for me on my first ebike. I now have a 1000 watt brushless motor on a mountain bike with a 48v 15mah battery. With a Ping Battery it ran 28-30 on flat. With a Calibike 48...

Cars Cutting Me Off: Do Horns Help?

Listen how many times do you really need to use a horn. The airsound Z is so loud that a quick 1 second blast is enough. You don't have to hold it down for 5 seconds. Something about the sound is so piercing that it scares the drivers. Also it doesn't just fizz out all at once. It gradually...

Cars Cutting Me Off: Do Horns Help?

The AirsoundZ Air horn definitely helps. It is so loud and startling. I've had drivers in front who were going to pull out stop in there tracks. I also use a Strobe light and a Rear Helmet light during the day. Be seen.!

Battery Packs - Where to buy them

I'm veering towards the 84v 15ah Pack What would the weight and dimensions be. A lot of people are saying that I'm veering towards the Dark Side with your setup. My opinion: I'm thinking that using the quality balance charger. Buying a Lyon Controller and having it programmed for the right...

    36V 20ah or 48V 15ah Ping

You will get bored silly with a 36v Battery. If you need to get the 30 Miles Distance just keep your speed to the 20MPh with the 48v 15ah and it should do 30 Miles without issue. Pedal to the metal at 27-30mph I get around 20 Miles on my Ping 48v 15ah

Battery Packs - Where to buy them

I currently have an E-Bike this would be an upgrade. My current build has a 48v 15ah Ping Battery with a BMS and a Cheap no name 1000 watt motor. It goes 27-30 MPH I want to join the 40mph + Club. Yes I know I'll probably blow the engine or the controller but I'll be ready to replace them in a...

Battery Packs - Where to buy them

How about reasonable price, reasonable performance, reasonably long lasting? This is an interesting statement. "Since you don't want to assemble A123 20 AH cells and agniusm's kit (he has a 24S one) or 2x12S" One of the fascinating observations that I've made is that people who are skilled at...
