Panasonic mid drive sudden stops under load.

Not that either. The connections are good and solid and there is no slipper clutch. See what I mean how weird it is? I tried connecting the hall sensor but it made no difference. Both controllers support higher speed motors as well as slow hub drives. It just seems like such a weird problem to...

Panasonic mid drive sudden stops under load.

Tested with an LFP pack that's at about 39V. Barely drops lower than that due to needing hardly any load to cut out. Also tested with a Lipo pack at about 37V, again drop is tiny. Tested with the controller I bought for it and another similar 36V controller. The fact that it does it on both is...

Panasonic mid drive sudden stops under load.

Never had this with any motor before. Happens everytime you gun the throttle. Actually being on the bike it's useless. Being very gentle with the throttle it starts to drive but then still does it. Yet with no load it runs perfectly smooth, motor turns smooth. I've checked the pinion and spur...

Anyone know the wiring on Panasonic Mid Motors?

Agreed, I think they've just bundled a random screen from a different model.

Anyone know the wiring on Panasonic Mid Motors?

Upon even further digging I've found PDF docs in German that say the grey and black are a speed sensor, and the red yellow black are for a lighting assembly. Seems odd that none are for brake cut off switches. extra wires going to screen are still a mystery too. I contacted the seller who said...

Anyone know the wiring on Panasonic Mid Motors?

Yeah I've looked all over the place. I found someone saying the grey and black in a speed sensor, I'm guessing for the speed governor to limit you correctly. Dunno what the others are yet. Seller said 36v, and the screen does say 36v on the back. I'm still digging. I don't really want to end up...

    Cyclone 4kW mid-drive self-engineered project

Man those batteries are gonna coooooook. HK's 30c turnigy's and 40c Zippy's got hot drawing about 8c constant. With them rated at 10c, and HK's track record, they'll probably run hot at 3c. Good luck though, looking real nice so far.

Anyone know the wiring on Panasonic Mid Motors?

Panasonic NUA type. Person sold me it saying it works but wires need fixing. Screen connector had some lose wires, found a pic to make sure which holes they came out of, reconnected them all except the blue from the screen which goes to an empty slot on the connector, and all the remaining...

Name/Type of sprocket for this mid motor drive?

Unfortunately the only shops I can find that deal with these are 80+ miles away. Found a shop selling the 35t chainring for £15 which isn't as bad as I'd expected. But put off by them wanting £5 shipping for just that. Most other places are free or maybe £2.

Name/Type of sprocket for this mid motor drive?

Yeah I was thinking of sacrificing an old chainring to do that, much better than trying to replicate the pattern each time.

Name/Type of sprocket for this mid motor drive?

Oh poo. Yeah it looks like that, which probably means they'll sell a £5 chainring for £40. Might try using the dremel to carve teeth into one myself. Thanks for identifying it so quickly dude.

Name/Type of sprocket for this mid motor drive?

The BMX sprocket is just a normal chainring for a 1 piece crankset. For the motor obviously normal crank arms will slot onto the square pegs, but the sprocket/chainring fitting is different to most of my bikes old fashioned axle with bearing cups at either side, that use a set where the right...

Belt/mid-drive BMX ... Current draw with wheel off the ground?

Free running speed should always be very low except for the initial spin up. Friction from belt drive will add a bit more than a hub motor spinning but still nothing compared to proper load moving the bike and you. But without knowing how powerful the motor is it's all just guess work really...

Name/Type of sprocket for this mid motor drive?

Anyone know the correct name for the type of sprocket that slots onto this? I'm hoping there's a slot on adaptor I can get to use my old BMX sprocket on it as the gearing is ideal already.

    S-LCD3, KT-LCD3, S12 Controllers, Compatible?

So my brother wants to replace the basic screen on his S12SN for one of the LCD3 ones with the separate control panel like lots of us use. Problem is while places like bmsbattery sell them for a about £22. They then want another £17 or so just for shipping. Having looked around Aliexpress it...

    Reminder: Don't trust Hobbyking batteries.

Everyone saying compression is the answer, surely if they try to swell under compression they will burst open and vent. Or worse due to being pressed together, should one set fire it's gonna pass straight to the next cells. Seems like there's no good single type of battery. I used to run a 36v...

    Reminder: Don't trust Hobbyking batteries.

Dear arrogant person. Are you suggesting I don't charge my batteries before a ride? I at no point said I leave them fully charged for long periods of time. I tend to leave ones I'm not using at about 60%. If they're being used of course I'm going to fully charge them. And even then fully...

    Reminder: Don't trust Hobbyking batteries.

That was fresh off the charger. I use Turnigy 6s chargers for doing balance charges, I believe they're clones of the IMAX B6. And a 54.6v 13s 2A generic charger for charging them as a pack on the bike. When I balance charge them I charge to 4.2v per cell as is standard. Only time I'm pulling...

    Reminder: Don't trust Hobbyking batteries.

I've been using the same set of LiPos on my bike for a few years. Can't go very far with em. So last November I spent £160 on some more batteries to supplement what I already have. Another 2x 5s batteries and a 3s battery. Was good, increased range, could go on longer rides. Would check the...

Nah the strips were never there. they didn't come off with the tape. I've charged them separately with my RC charger and now linked them up. ebay and paypal won't do anything what with it being about 5 and a half years ago. Is a piss take that all these years the main set of cells have only been...

connected 3x 12v 55W bulbs to the bms to let it drain. when it cut off I tested. all other cell stacks still 3.2, first and last 2.8, cells not connected on first and last are 3.2, iv left it charging, then I'll use my lipo charger in lfp mode to top up each set. I can get some little carbon...

What ever happened to that site? Seems to be gone. Got a 38.4V LFP from them about 5 years ago. 20Ah, 12s18p. The capacity has always been poor. And now I know why after tearing open the pack to have a look... How can someone who builds batteries as a job, not know how to build a battery? 10...
