    Toyota MGR first test

Great Work! I think this thread should be called something like: 200kW motor controller (open source) It would be pages long by now.. You really have something to be proud of here and releasing it open source is awesome. Thanks on behalf of the entire EV community

    Security

That one looks good :D I still prefer something that doesn't look like a gps, so thieves can't just find it and cut the cord.. as easily... But. The fact that it works up to 80 volts is great! and it looks like it has some other ebike specific functions too. 17.Sleep Mode by time ,by shock...

This is the kind of thing I was looking at for a stealthy (in plain sight) gps system. Just in case anyone else is interested... link to amazon...

Descendence bikes open-source electric bike frame

Thanks for posting that. It's these kinds of things that give me hope.. sometimes I look around and all I see are people wanting more of everything all the time... but, Jimi, Jim, all the people who wrote a message or signed that paper and yourself for thinking it was important to post, now...

    power related

I don't really know much about it but I think DanD gave the answer you are looking for already. 1) more torque 2) no new batteries required ( although not prohibited either) 3) no speed increase just hill climbing power ( I believe) 4) less complicated (although it may seem more because you...

How much compression can an 18650 cell take

Wow. great reply Marty. I'll have to read up on that some more. Thanks

How much compression can an 18650 cell take

Hmmm interesting. I hadn't thought of that. I guess it may depend on perspective.. If I added 2 pounds to a cromotor build that already weighed 88 pounds, I might not care.. actually even just writing that seems weird.. 88 -> 90 pounds just by adding magnets does kinda seem like alot. I mean...

How much compression can an 18650 cell take

awesome.. thanks for all the replies. looks like too many variables and HillHater was right the more relevant question would be how much force can a cell withstand without deformation?? I guess I will just have to find out the way I know best. Destroying $#!+ What does everyone...

How much compression can an 18650 cell take

Title says it all.. If you were building a compression battery housing and were effectively clamping the cells in there, how much force could they take? I don't need to know exactly but a little will damage them?? or you could start to actually make them a couple mm shorter and they'd be ok...

18650 battery Kit development and discussion[testing done]

I think you should make a battery case to fit into a frame. maybe like the one madmechanic is building: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=62345 I've just been bugging him to build a compression case into his frame. Maybe someone already down the road of cases could build one...

Descendence bikes open-source electric bike frame

Cool. That's exactly what I want and can't find anywhere too! I still think the compression case is a good idea though.. a compression case that works would be a bigger hit than the frame itself I think. did you see the thread where alex had to tear his pack apart to find a bad cell. looked...

Descendence bikes open-source electric bike frame

Looks Awesome!! I thought about what john said too, but.. I 'm an average height and It looks ok for me. lol  also probably not much you can do about it, with everything else going on. ie optimal weight placement and maximum battery capacity.. oh yeah and speaking of...

Descendence bikes open-source electric bike frame

I'm loving the style of this new frame. Veery nice. If I was looking for potential problems.. I wonder if the pedals will hit the frame in this area: And I think the joint below the shock looks like a bit of a weak point at this time.. then again I have really no knowledge of such things...
