    r3volved's LR Norco @72v

Nice project, love the bike. Maybe a pit bike seat would fit? They are cheap and easy find, should save you some time and money :)

    another "new" gearbox?

Hi, I came across this crakset a couple of months ago and I think it looks really interesting. 3 gears, 179% gear ratio and should fit to most bikes. If I remember correctly it will cost $189 or $160 with the 15% discount. Homepage: http://www.efneo.com/en/gearbox/ Presentation video...

    Scott Gambler with Revolt 120

Really interesting, I'll be following this build. Do you plan to fit the motor to the chain stay? I think a belt drive on the left side of the bike would be a great setup. I'm working on my first build (BigHit+Cromotor), but I'm already planning my next one for which I'll probably use a...

    Gyro for controlled Wheelies

Got the ball till sensor today and played around with it a bit. As adriftatsea predicted it doesn't work when vibrating. The small vibrations from the relays actually trigger the sensors when the module is places on a hard surface  The relays seems really nice though. The MPU 6050...

    Gyro for controlled Wheelies

It seems like my concerns about the ball switch tilt sensor are confirmed then... :? I don't know how the sensitivity potentiometer operates, but it will certainly not be as refined as a filtering software. A raspberry pi/arduino etc.setup will obviously open up to a whole world of...

    Gyro for controlled Wheelies

That's part of the fun  I just ordered this 2 channel tilt sensor: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331399882278?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I like that it has integrated relays (normally open and normally closed), which makes it easy to set up for a test. The...

    Gyro for controlled Wheelies

Some more thoughts, sorry for the wall of text :) Maybe a progressive 'throttle decreaser' is overkill for a first test? If the alarm signal is connected to a relay that shut the throttle signal off, it should do the job. Maybe not that smooth though... I've seen opinions on how acceleration...

    Gyro for controlled Wheelies

It seems like every person in this thread has a different view on what kind of system we want to make :) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you and I have the same approach; something like a progressive 'tilt cut-off'. The sensor doesn't increase the throttle signal when the front wheel is...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

Interesting info! They're CNC machined though.

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

Finally the dropouts are fabricated! Got this picture from the manufacturer: I think they look good! But I regret that I didn't round off the sharp edges. I'll might file them down a bit when I receive them, I'll have to tap threads the holes myself anyways. Due to cost reasons I didn't...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

That's a nice solution! Next time, I'll might try to make them myself. I've left enough material to drill and tap a pinching bolt. Does it really make that much of a difference? If so, I could talk to a friend that have a proper pillar drill. The manufakturer told me they will be done by next...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

Yeah, I'll might try that next time. I think it would have been very time consuming to work 10mm steel though.

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

OK, I ordered the dropouts today! They're similar to the last ones I posted, but they extend along the chain stay instead of the seat stay. The price? $225 :o It's expensive to make custom parts! But as I don't have to pay for welding and heat treatment I guess that's OK.

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

Thanks for the caliper mount dimensions! Good point MadRhino. I made new carboard models today: These extend the swingarm back- and downwards in line with the seat stay. They are quite bulky and will weigh around 400-500g each. I'll might try to shed some weight off by adding some holes and...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

Thanks for the refrences Teleknik, that's encouraging. That indeed seems like the best solution. I test fitted a cardboard model of the latest version: Fits like a glove! As it gets support from the shape of the seat stay even a cardboard prototype feels quite solid. A extended version will...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

That's actually a good plan, should be quite solid. My only concern is that the already increased weight of the rear wheel will be moved longer from the pivots, which should add stress the frame, bearings etc. But maybe I'm over thinking this :) I've made a new design with horizontal dropouts...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

I guess you have a point, the weight will add to the unsprung mass though... But that might not make much difference as the hub motor is much heavier. Anyhow, I'm redrawing the dropouts once more. This time made of 10-12mm steel so that they will act as torque arms as well. I don't have much...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

Thanks for the replys! I'm aware that aluminum will not be strong enough to handle the torque, that's why I will add steel torque arms. Probably doctorbass' creation; http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29129&start=300 The plan is to bolt them to the aluminum plates...

Dropout design, feedback needed! (Cromotor, pictures)

Hi, I've bought myself a 05 Specialized Bighit for my first eBike build. My initial plan was to build a reasonable cheap and fast mid drive bike. However, I realized that I want more power! The new plan is to use a Cromotor. The Bighit is quite outdated, I know. But it seems to me that it's a...
