VESC BLDC-tool and BLDC firmware compilation on Mac

With the update of VESC BLDC-tool to use qt serial port, the build broke on Mac. Previously it build fine on my Mac, when it was using Benjamin's own serial port implementation, instead of QT's one. On Ubuntu/Linux, you can use sudo apt-get install build-essential qt-sdk openocd git...

Open Source Arduino transmitter/receiver for (V)ESC

Torqueboards asked me to help with a simple open source controller, so here is one very affordable example setup using two Arduino Nano's using nRF24L01+ transceivers. I'll update this post over time to make it a easier step-by-step process. Originally, my post described an BLUNO Beetle using...

    Adding Hall sensors for VESC?

I have hub-motors using the TURNIGY AERODRIVE SK3 – 6374-149KV and each motor has a VESC attached, at 12s (or 6s if wiring parallel). Being spoiled by the Boosted Board, I'm not entirely happy with VESC performance at startup and low speed braking, so I want to try adding sensors to the...

Nunchuck (Kama) to VESC I2C doesn't work, any Howto?

I digged up the information for the VESC I2C pinout and the (Nyko Kama) Nunchuck pinout, connected the 4 pins, but after fiddling with the BLDC-tool, the Nunchuck doesn't work. Do we need any pull-up resistors? Can anyone who got it to work explain some more details? This video by Benjamin...

Damage of VESC's connected by can bus

It is possible to damage a VESC when connecting to another VESC over can bus (to share single servo PPM signal). This happened to me already with 4 VESC's, soldered by 2 different people. Once damaged, some part of the VESC becomes really hot, as if the voltage regulator doesn't work anymore...
