is torque a good predictor of how easy it will feel to go uphill?

I thought I would do a follow up. I ended up getting this bike from bikes direct and pretty happy with it. https://bikeshopwarehouse.com/cgi-bin/BSW_STOR20.cgi?Action=Details&ProdID=2594 I live in really hilly area and climbs hills greats. Sill have to work at it but it is definitely...

Trouble getting KT controller/LCD3 working with Voilmart motor

Just a follow up with this. I really like the KT controller + lcd over the one that came with the voilamart motor (sw900). The pedal assist is way more responsive, and the various pedal assist levels actually work, Level one maxes out around 150 Watts, configurable to be less.

Trouble getting KT controller/LCD3 working with Voilmart motor

So it appears P2 needs to be set to 0 not 1. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/how-250w-voilamart-kit-with-lcd3.34132/ It is registering speed now! Tomorrow is take it out for as spin, see if any other adjustments are needed.

Trouble getting KT controller/LCD3 working with Voilmart motor

I've got a 1000W voilamart motor that I was hoping to use a KT 48V controller with my kt lcd3 display with. * Throttle works * PAS seems to work (I had to switch around the wires a bit, see https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/power-issues-with-voilamart-kit.40299/) But I get no speed...

Trouble getting KT controller/LCD3 working with Voilmart motor

There is a six pin connector that go from the motor to the controller but # of wires and colors all match up: Red->red Blue->Blue Black-Black Green->Green Yellow->Yellow Which wire controls speed or could this just be a setting in the KT controller I have to change? Here are my current...

Trouble getting KT controller/LCD3 working with Voilmart motor

So according to this thread, the PAS sensor was the result of changing the wires, i.e, https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/power-issues-with-voilamart-kit.40299/ So I connected black to black, red to brown, white to yellow. PAS now works! Although still not seeing speed... Any idea...

Trouble getting KT controller/LCD3 working with Voilmart motor

So I have an existing voilamart motor 1000W motor and bought that KT controller 48v controller with a KT LCD3. The throttle is working but not much else. Has anyone done this and able to configure the controller to work with this motor? No luck with PAS and not registering any speed. It...

KT controllers, can you configure watts delivered at various levels?

Thanks everyone, I've got one of those voilamart 1000w motors and the controller it came with is terrible. There is no way I can configure the existing controller to output any less watts even across the board like the KT controllers. I'm hoping it all works and can just hook up the KT...

KT controllers, can you configure watts delivered at various levels?

I'm looking at a fairly inexpensive kit which includes a KT controller. https://tinyurl.com/5y2zpdka Does anyone know if these KT controllers can be configured to produce different watts on different levels? It is a 1000W motor, so would like to see level 1 to only produce low amount of watts...

is torque a good predictor of how easy it will feel to go uphill?

I'd love some opinions on this article: https://bicycles.stackexchange.com/questions/74824/ebikes-is-torque-a-good-predictor-of-how-easy-it-will-feel-to-go-uphill I'm considering buying an Ebike that uses a Shimano e5000 mid drive motor (it is couple years old). It is rated at 250W with max...

Well, was looking at this bike: http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/e-bikes-electric-bicycles/ebikes-electric-hybrid-fitness-bikes-elite-esport.htm E5000 claims 40nm of torque. The newer ones (E6100) claim 60nm of torque. The bafang mid drive puts out 120nm torque...

Anyone familiar with the Shimano STePS e5000 250W middrive motor? I'm looking at a bike with this motor and was wondering how well it performs on steep hills? I'm not looking for a motor with top speeds, focus is more on range, smooth shifting, at somewhat normal bike speeds with help on the...

Ebay Fraud - ebike kit - xcceries seller

I've ordered a few ebike products from ebay, but this seller by far takes the cake for poor business practices. I'm writing here so that other's don't have to deal with the same hassle that I did.

torque arms (do I need 1 or 2 of them?)

I've got a 48V 1000W rear hub motor and I've been reading it is recommended to use a torque arm when installing it. The kit that I have doesn't include one, but other kits I've noticed sometimes do, but only includes 1 torque arm. Can I get away with 1 or do I need a torque arm on both sides...

Lipo Battery Voltage Checker for eBike

Lipo Battery Voltage Checker for eBike

Also, how do these alarms work, as a little bit of reading I'm doing states that there is "load" voltage and "resting?" (no load) voltage. Under load the V can get down to like 3.3V or something but then after no load, it move back up to 3.7, 3.8, etc. So if there is only 1 alarm, wouldn't...

lipo battery 14AWG wire connector, will this melt the wire?

So I built a small series harness with those two little lipo batteries, batteries works great! Multimeter is reporting 50V... And was thankful that I didn't see any smoke coming out of the bag behind the seat. Seems the 14AWG is fine given how short the wire is. Thanks for all the...
