Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

Hi Kepler, I have not been doing much with with the friction drive I bought from you for a loooong time. well I decided to have another build with it this time with a 29 inch wider tired bike and I made the motor mount locked so it wont move and use the gravity spring. I also have made the...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

hey Kepler, I have not posted since I bought your prototype. life kind of got in the way I guess. I will post a few pics once I get everything looking at least presentable. I just took my second ride tonight. test ride I will say. the first one was truly out of control. I am riding with your...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

I have been enjoying the posts so far. I too got one of the prototypes. I finally mounted it to my bike and have tested with my controller and servo tester. runs great and really gets the wheel up to speed. I have been busy with work and home projects but hope to have set up and try a ride in...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

Fantastic work once again Kepler. Still working to get my prototype to work with my motor but between all my other home improvement projects I will get there. agree with scooterman. once all the brains on this forum weigh in there will be a great throttle for sure. I am going to try some...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

fantastic work and video Kepler! I cant wait to get my drive installed. I am not having much luck with the whole arduino thing and will probably just do a button like you did. so cool!!! so if I do an on/off button with my castle 90 speed control could I build that same circuit that you did with...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

Kepler, did you find it necessary to cut the shaft on your 63 motor? It looks like mine sticks out too far on the one side. If so any suggestions how to cut it shorter to prevent from hitting crank arm.

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

meant to say by tune able I meant via the arduino programming. you can change the speed it moves the servo arm and to what angle between o and 180 so seems like with proper y hookup the motor would perform the same therefore allow experimenting via software changes. litterly a couple of number...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

I vote for the 63 seems like it would be smoother than the 50. doesnt really show up that much on bike IMO. I have gotten myself a beginner arduino uno kit. Trying to learn and it is very easy to learn with this kit. I cant quite get it to work right with the motor. the servo sweep with push...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

I was testing my servo tester it has a sweep function and a center function. The center button moves the servo to center as the motor is brought to half throttle. The sweep function ramps up motor to full very smooth while fully sweeping servo all wth one button. BUT it's function is to sweep...

That sounds like a good way to do the combo. I have zero experience with arduino. I have read a little. Do you have any info on how this setup would work? Thanks

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

So awesome Kepler. I was just rummaging through my rc stuff and couldn't find my y harness yesterday. I was about to pull apart a plane. Now I read this. You've already proved what I was wondering. Let me know when your selling your brackets. I have my motor servo tester and controller ready. I...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

Website confirmed my measurements and the speed is 230kv. On my test runs of the motor on a test stand it was very quiet under no load. I don't mind the visibility or sound. I'm really not worried about stealth. I like the idea of it showing a bit. I do like the neatness of your various designs...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

This is fantastic information. I looked this morning. My model is called an eMax BL5335. I did measure diameter and it is 63mm Looks like the 6354 you have there. I will keep watching for you to your bracket to go up for sale. I think it would be a good match for my road bike trek 2300 with...

Kepler Friction drive comes of age.

Hi Kepler, I have been following your various builds now for a few years. Fantastic stuff!!! I was inspired to create a friction drive this summer so I bought an emax motor, 63mm around 210 KV and a castle 90 ESC with a couple zippy 4000mah 6s batteries and a servo tester. plus a decent charger...
