    DIY LiFePO4 48v pack - What am I missing?

I built a pack out of similar cells. They're not identical, so I can't speak to the quality of the ones you've linked, but the ones I got are pretty much just as described and seem to be able to handle a decently high discharge rate. I built a large battery and it's doing well. In hindsight...

Differences between the old and new version of phpbb & proposed changes

Good fix, and quick work! I really like the new look. It's growing on me. I big blue bars on each side are going to continue to be annoying, however. Ah well, it's not like I actually _need_ endless sphere to be the full width of my monitor. If you ever need any volunteer help with such...

Differences between the old and new version of phpbb & proposed changes

Strange. When I clicked on one of the links from another thread to come here, it didn't have the problem (still shows me logged in), but when I click the links from amberwolf, it's as if I had logged out. Refreshing didn't make the problem go away.

Differences between the old and new version of phpbb & proposed changes

When I click on one of the above links, it takes me there with a "login" button on the screen instead of my user name. Still broken? The themes still need a little work, IMHO. I don't like the colors (or lack thereof) with milk, but all the other themes only use half my monitor width...

    phaserunner.com domain name for sale.

Is he "judgement proof"? (so poor you can't win any money in court no matter what he does) If not, keep your options open.

    phaserunner.com domain name for sale.

Yeah, but somebody should have their lawyer send him a nasty cease and desist letter. This doesn't seem to be a "good faith" use of some trademarked names. Gotta protect those trademarks or lose them.

    phaserunner.com domain name for sale.

Going after an individual's forum name seems less predatory and more pathetic. Why would he try to sell this:https://www.ebay.com/itm/amber-wolf-com-domain-name-for-sale-amberwolf-endless-sphere-moderator-cargo/182838312247?hash=item2a92033d37:g:tnQAAOSwLF1X3eV9 What can he hope to actually...

    phaserunner.com domain name for sale.

I have a pretty low opinion of people that poach other's names and grab the associated domain name. It's a somewhat questionable practice, to me. It seems especially problematic when it's a name that should be owned by somebody I've had dealings with. So it was a bit troubling when I saw the...

My new bike with MAC motor, Grinfineon, TDCM sensor

It's probably a combination of me doing something unusual, having too small a fuse, and the CA not doing what I expected. I don't have a good meter for measuring current, but the CA has always showed my battery usage fairly accurately (amp hours used seem to come close to battery capacity). I...

My new bike with MAC motor, Grinfineon, TDCM sensor

I've been working on my parameters for the new bike -- lately up and down throttle rates and AGain. Yesterday I had a problem where the throttle response didn't seem to start until I had maxed out the throttle. Once it started, it seemed to work over the whole range. Then, mysteriously, the...

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

It's very strange, but the problem seems to have gone away overnight! I didn't make any changes at all after my earlier update, but this morning there's no "dead throttle" problem. It responds from the very beginning. I'm going to continue to tweak the parameters to eliminate any remaining...

Blue EVG bike stolen in Orange County

That's certainly a beautiful bike. Don't give up hope -- I had a bike stolen once and recovered it, so it is possible.

    PowerVelocity controller review

You have a source that would be affordable for 12x or 18x of these?

    PowerVelocity controller review

I don't think I agree with you. You're trying to reduce RDS to a single value when it varies with current and temperature. And in this case, those two ratings from the data sheets have different assumptions -- the IXYS part's max is given for 50A, the AOT for 20A. Looking at the plots of RDS...

I guess it has to be a TO-220? I only see some of their better ones in other packages.

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I'm having a strange problem with my CAv3. It's running the latest beta firmware. I recently increased my battery voltage to 60v nominal (from 36v) and I now notice a much more pronounced "pulsing" from both my throttle control and from my torque-PAS (TDCM). I've decreased both AGain and...

    Buying forest land, implementing solar

Just a suggestion, but check the prices for pre-cut studs also. You'll use a lot more of them. By pre-cut, I mean 92 5/8" studs (so that the completed wall is 8' tall when using these as the vertical studs) or 104 5/8" (for 9' walls) -- these are by far the most common size you'd use when you...

My new bike with MAC motor, Grinfineon, TDCM sensor

Everything is working with the modified CAv3, external PS, and bigger battery. But I'm going to have to adjust something in the CA -- one of the gain parameters perhaps. There's a really bad "pulsing" to the applied power that wasn't there with the lower voltage battery. Some interaction of...

    Destroyed my CA3?

It's actually still alive! It's hard for me to believe, but I actually got it to power on. There's a big scorch mark on the board and the ground connection is just gone. The polyfuse is half burned off the board and other stuff looked "scorched". The incoming power wires have melted...

My new bike with MAC motor, Grinfineon, TDCM sensor

I agree with all your points. But I think I can live with this compromise location -- it's where I had them on my previous bike except that I was using some really ugly battery bags -- re-purposed office depot logo "briefcases". If I ever get new batteries, though, I will probably put them in...

My new bike with MAC motor, Grinfineon, TDCM sensor

I've thought about getting (or making) a triangle battery pack, but the darn triangle is so small on this bike. I'm really not a big fan of the geometry, it's maybe half the size in the triangle as my touring bike. But then, it cost a small fraction of what I spent on my LHT, so I shouldn't...

My new bike with MAC motor, Grinfineon, TDCM sensor

Thanks again to everybody that helped me fix my messed up mod to the CA. It's working just fine now. I've set up the external power supply, routed true battery voltage through on the unused speedometer wire from the controller (yellow wire on the CA plug), to a voltage divider (120K and 5.6K...

Public charging stations for e-bikes. Is there a standard?

At a few cents per kwh, I would think having a customer in a shop/store/restaurant/etc. would be plenty of incentive to provide charging.

    It shouldn't be this hard.

Just got another email from info@ebikes.ca. I have to give them full credit for trying to help -- replying to my email in a couple of hours (at night) is pretty responsive. The bad news is that wiring directly to the processor is my best bet (those tiny pins set so close together...) But the...

    It shouldn't be this hard.

It seems I was a little too quick with my praise. Here's the advice I got: The reason I say I was too quick is that I don't understand how to get to the area under the processor on the board. Is there something I'm missing here? The board doesn't seem to separate from the one below. I...
