SOLD!!!!! Manhattan Smoothie Conversion for Sale $1,200 (REDUCED FROM $1,600)

I have moved to a trike so I’m selling, what I call, my Geezer Cruiser. It has a Crystalite 2000 watt DD motor, a Cycle Analyst and, an Allcell 48 volt/20ah battery (REALLY good battery and has been well cared for). I’m pretty sure it has a 40 amp controller. It’s a pedal forward bike, with a...

    Horn wiring issue

Thanks guys, I’m going to see what I can find that may do the job. I’m also thinking of swapping the 48volt horn for a 12 volt and installing a step down transformer (useful for other accessories too). Any idea if that may work? Cheers, Frank

Low torque with a strange noise on start.

Hi, I had a similar problem on 2 different occasions! The first time a throttle wire was partially cut through. The second time a connector was not completely seated. Best of luck, Frank

    Horn wiring issue

Hello Everyone, I recently completed a conversion on a Trident Trekker and directly wired a 48 volt car horn To a 48v 17.5 ah bafang battery. The led lights are also wired direct to the battery and work perfectly. The horn has an intermittent problem. On occasion, it will shut down the...

    BikeE Build

Your fork selection looks like a better set up than mine. Perhaps you won’t need to bend the crank arms to get clearance! I’m going to sell mine in the spring. I just built a trike .... my old body said it was time. I’ll be posting pics soon and thanking all who offered advise). Regards, F

    New build issue

Cold setting the frame seems like a good idea, if I can find a shop willing to do it. I like the idea of 2 more axle nuts. I should have asked if using all the spacers/nuts the axle is likely to bend or break? I’m an old 175 lbs so I don’t hot rod, “Anymore”, but I do ride mostly bumpy gravel...

    New build issue

Good Evening, I have mounted my hub motor and am concerned about the 17.5mm of spacing on each side of the axle (see pics below)! Will this cause any issues. Also, the axle is fully bedded into the dropout however, the nut is sticking below the dropout.... any issues with that? Lastly, the...

    Throttle cable too short

Hello, I am starting the install of an Ebikeling DD kit tomorrow and have discovered that the throttle cable is too short. It is a standard looking 3 wire waterproof style cable. The supplier recommended an extension cable but “yelp” it’s not long enough. I’d like to splice in a length of wire...

    New build issue

Glad I asked. Thank you. I think I will move on to a different hub. I have not been able to get on to Grin’s website so can’t get any info from their. My others options are a geared rear hub and I am annoyed by the noise after being spoiled for many years with my Crystalite DD. I’m a little...

    New build issue

Good morning, what do you think of dishing the rim to the opposite side of the cassette and putting all or most of the spacers on that that side? Seems like I could get some or all of the 9.5mm that way! Any issues with strength or the physics of this? Thanks, Frank

    New build issue

As usual you guys have the experience and creativity to come up with solid suggestions! I’ll begin to pursue them this weekend when the trike arrives. Thanks, Frank

    New build issue

Sorry I can’t provide a picture right now..... I know it’s hard to visualize. Yes you are correct, 9.5 to be exact. Which means I’d need to move the derailleur toward the cassette that same amount. Not sure I can move It that far by using the high limit screw? Really trying to make this work as...

    New build issue

Hello, I am about to order DD hub motor with 175 mm dropouts. The dropout on my Trident Fat Trekker trike is 194mm. I can add spacers to make up the 19mm and keep the wheel centered, but that would mean that the derailleur limit would need to move inboard to make up the 9.5mm’s! Does anyone...

    Hub motor recommendation

I am very Close to settling on a BBSHD mid, but I’ll check out your recommendations. The Gmac is geared and I’d prefer a DD. Can you comment on the noise level of the fast wound one, I think it’s the 10T? Also, I’m looking for a minimum speed of 25MPH even though I usually average about 15. I...

    Hub motor recommendation

Good suggestion, thank you for taking the time send the video. Now I know that the mid-drive won’t interfere with the fold, good news since that may be what I end up with. The BBSHD probably makes the most sense in this case. I had one on my wife’s trike, but didn’t like I t as much as the DD’s...

    Hub motor recommendation

Hello, I am about to order a Trident FAT Trekker NON-electric trike! I would like to convert it with a 1500 watt (prox) direct drive rear hub motor with 190mm dropouts. I have emailed with Grin and searched the internet without success. Can anyone recommend a high quality/reliable motor...
