    I've once had to cut the connector on that battery cable near the motor region. It's located directly above the motor where it connects, and replacing it with XT (60 or 90) connectors solved an arcing issue for me. It is not difficult to re-use the cable, no need to cut it unless it's broken...

    I'm still running the storm hc (had a few left and is half the price) but I switched from the Magura 9 series to the 8 series (individual pads) and that got rid of the noise. A new disc + brake pads, and then aligning them makes a difference as well. Cheers

    Check out a youtube on how to open the motor, and then see how the cables/connections look inside. If you can swap more parts besides the battery, that could also rule out certain issues.

    There are connections inside the motor housing you should then also check. Error code 30 is indeed a "Communication Fault".
