    Running high power hubs with bike frames is futile, but you can get hub specific frames with clamping dropouts that will work just fine. Then you can use regen and never worry about running through brakes.

    100lbs bike? Is it not a hub? If it's a hub just use regen braking. If it's not a hub, get metal sintered pads.

    Gold plated terminals on connector are corroded. One of them is green. You need to clean it off and also look at the receptacle where the terminal goes in.

    Almost every brake brand has replacement pads on aliexpress between 1 and 2 dollars. I've been using them fine, I have a hunch they come from the same factory as the originals (illicit production runs).

    5-6v is good, 7 or 8 would be too much The connector may be starting to get destroyed for it to start not popping, or you are plugging the charger into the wall first, before connecting it (as you should)

    40-43 battery amps I would say is the limit, you can bump up the voltage higher, to 72v, so you will get about 3000w.

    The explanation of the feature is communicated as you press the ok button. Not sure about the not connecting issue, you have to have location on for android. There are multiple apps that work with it, currently I use MaYi-bms, but last time I ordered from them they said they will have a new chip...

    200mm adapter will work for 203mm rotor, you will just need 2 washers under each side of 1.5mm thickness roughly.

    Agree if you built the thing for next to nothing better to use it like it is, if you want something nicer you can just use the learnings and make another one instead of replacing components bit by bit on the old one. I think you could fit it into a single unit on some 3 or 4 wheel velomobile...

    Instead of ac to 36v and then 36v to 40v, why not just use a charger from ac to whatever pack voltage you like? Chargers have a pot in it where you can fine tune the output voltage. I would also consider getting a smaller higher voltage battery, and fitting it to the bike. So you can go on rides...

    The guilt keeps me up at night, I think of all the pedestrians and cyclists I pass, using my ebike privilege. Ever since I thought about their long boring walks and rides compared to mine, the ebike isn't the same for me. :confused:
