BBSHD Clicking But Is It Normal?

frock it, I'll just order a new clutch since they're cheap and keep riding it because I can't think what else it could be. :)

BBSHD Clicking But Is It Normal?

The clicking sounds the same as like a freewheel clicking in rear wheel hubs. The only part that I know of that can make this kind of sound is the clutch in the BBSHD. I took off the chain and rotated the chain ring by hand and I hear this freewheel clicking sound from the drive side. I took...

    Clarification on the 20% Rule

ahh, so it is also much better to charge it to 50% for overnight storage? i usually charge it to 80% ready for the next morning

    Clarification on the 20% Rule

like i said, about 40% sounds like it's the resting percentage that is important

    Clarification on the 20% Rule

I charge my battery to 80% when I’m commuting. All good. After the return journey the battery usually ends up around 40% at rest. During the ride home the battery indicator is often in the red, below 20%, as I ride. So i am asking if i am harming the battery by breaking the 20% rule or not?

    Replace Cells?

Wise words. It had a high quality price tag tho unfortunately I bought another battery the day after the incident anyway and have been using it since

    Replace Cells?

It was an expensive lesson but a lesson nonetheless. I also destroyed my $1500 iPhone but it could have been much worse. I am impressed with how robust my bbshd is after all this.

    Replace Cells?

Negative side. The entire bike was submerged in two foot of muddy water for about a minute or two. I was knocked out/dazed for thirty seconds or so and up to my knees in mud against a six foot vertical wall of the drain. As i tried to drag the bike out by the rear wheel, the throttle kept...

    Replace Cells?

Okay, it’s a regular downtube pack. Here’s a couple of photos. Hopefully they link properly. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PH7YBg6-E66yE6QGYe7qFVTeGFn_Yc29/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mpFUKmLRtwGblAOARPLD9H2lRDO3VpRP/view?usp=drivesdk

    Replace Cells?

Okay, that cell group has dropped to 3.99v overnight without the BMS connected. The cells are damaged like I thought in the first place. This has been a great learning experience but I truly have no idea how to replace a cell group.

    Replace Cells?

That’s with bms connected. Charging that group up now to see what happens without bms connected. It’s a brand new BMS as I destroyed the last one in a crash with total water submersion.

    Replace Cells?

Ok, i charged that group up to 4.22v and overnight it has already dropped to 3.9v

    Replace Cells?

I might know exactly how you felt soon enough. That group charged up 7mv in an hour then only 9mv in the next 2.5 hours. We’ll see. Thank you for the info.

    Replace Cells?

Thanks, i got it. Lucky for me my BMS has blue tooth connectivity, otherwise i would have never known. Must be people riding around out there in ignorant bliss, until....

    Replace Cells?

Ahhhh, clever. So the negative pin just goes into the pin with the black wire and the positive into the pin going to the low cell group?

    Replace Cells?

Thanks mate. How would i go about just charging those cells independently from the rest?

    Replace Cells?

Can i also ask how many cells to each group of cells? Like it may only be one or two cells in that first bank that are potentially damaged right? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

    Replace Cells?

ok. I think i will take it to a local dealer and get them replaced. Thanks for the scary info. :)

    Replace Cells?

Hey, I have a 48v battery pack. Of the 13 cell banks 12 are measuring about 4.2v but one is down to 3.5v. Should i replace these low voltage cells? Will any damage be done by just leaving them for a few months? Sorry, I don’t know much about this stuff.

    BMS Replacement

Howdy, I have a panasonic 48v battery that I accidentally submerged in a drain full of water due to a crash. The voltage on the cells is still cool but the BMS crapped itself. So I bought a replacement BMS hoping that I could just solder up and plug in (the white plug with all the wires)...
