New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I commute in traffic. No mountain biking use case for me. Quick stop requires a cutout for me.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I use the Minshine Brake Sensor part #MSBK130804 with road brake levers and disc and caliper brakes. It would have no issue with Cantilever or v brakes or any cable actuated brakes.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

New motors are kinda noisy until they have some miles on them IMHO. Usually it's a whine that is fairly loud until the gears get some wear on them.

You can buy a bootloader at eco-ebike.com, which I recommend if you aren't handy OR Here's the wiki on building your own bootloader: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki/Flash-the-firmware-on-860C-850C-using-bootloader If your plug is 6 pin instead of the 5 pin...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

It sure was for me. It got worse the more I pedaled against the lack of resistance (I tried to limp home, but the sprag clutch wasn't having it)

I replaced my failed sprag clutch with a smile on my face! Open Source for the win!

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

When you remove the old sprag clutch, you'll see clear bearing adhesive on the outer surface. This helps the bearing not spin when under load. The loctite or similar automotive bearing and sleeve compound are even better than the clear junk Tong Shen puts on there. I too have replaced my sprag...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

So this thread had some posts about TSDZ2 wearing out standard bicycle parts in the drive train. I had the following damage to my freehub which I suspect was caused by 500W motor power plus my 250W on the smallest cog on the rear hub. The left bit is the inner race with a broken ridge, middle...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

cashino discovered it by personal experience. He has pictures of the fried motor in the wiki. 85C might be conservative, but I bet it would cook off at 95C, so not SUPER conservative. True that high quality motors might tolerate high temps, but the consumer grade motor in the TSDZ2 has proven...

Nope. I suspect something is rubbing where I can't see it. Haven't found it yet

I have this problem too, which is posted unanswered in the "E-Bike Technical" section. Anyone have any ideas?

TSDZ2 slight resistance, grinding sound 1 per revolution

Did you resolve this? I have the same issue, and am going to inspect the case to see if there's rubbing somewhere.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

My sprag clutch just died this morning. 2000 miles or 3200km on the motor with OSF the whole life of the motor. It started with a strange squeak at a non-consistent point of rotation of the cranks for probably a couple of hundred miles. Then the chain started skipping in only the most extreme...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

This doesn't make sense to me. I understand 36v motor kit, however, a 36v battery usually charges to 42.0v as measured with a voltmeter. Did you measure the battery voltage with a voltmeter?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Do you know what voltage the battery is charged to? What's the voltage of the kit you bought?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

No problems. You can either: A) Change over to the Open Source Code firmware for the motor (If you want to keep your standard display, I prefer the qmarco version of the code fork) B) Change over to the higher voltage standard firmware (found at...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Great ideas! Confirm what the battery voltage is before you pull anything out of the motor. I would even charge the battery to different levels (max, 90% charge, 80% charge) and see what point it stops being a problem. Also note, that the stock firmware will create a strange lack of power when...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

If the battery has an "off" switch, turn it off when done with the bike, or even take the battery inside (I do this for temperature reasons), and try that after a few days? It could be that continuous power to the motor is what it doesn't like? Strange issue to be sure...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Quick terminology check: there is a controller built into the motor housing, and display that connects via a cable to the motor. I think you mean that you switched displays with no change of behavior on hers/your bike? Also, what happens when you leave the battery powered on for a while while...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Thanks for that point of view casainho! I knew it would be good to discuss it in the forum before deciding on final text. I would draft something like this then and ask for feedback from tomcys and others: After you have selected the firmware file for 850c display with the "OpenFirmWare"...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Most excellent Tomcys! I want to add something that I haven't seen anywhere also to let folks know that they PROBABLY have swapped Tx/Rx in their bootloader build: The LEDs on the USB to UART board behavior: 1) So the power LED should go on and stay on when you insert the USB stick 2) The...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I've got a 850C and 52v stock firmware setup that I want to move to the Open Source firmware for both. However, should I go with 850C Version 0.6.2 (which pairs with Motor Version 0.51.0) or wait for an impending release? I guess what I'm asking is what is coming soon from the developers...
