[Faults 12] instantaneous controller overvoltage ???

Same voltage and same ah... but for me, it's too much monitoring required. DATEx2 is a great device if I can get it to work. And, I really dont have two identical batteries. A mix of 52v and 48v of different ah.

[Faults 12] instantaneous controller overvoltage ???

So.... this was resolved and yes it was the DATEx2 parallel battery diode module that caused the fault. The only thing I can think of is that the BR sends some sort of regen signal back and it gets refused or blocked or bounced back in some way causing this error. Will have to do some testing to...

[Faults 12] instantaneous controller overvoltage ???

Yep - I did run the autotune for the new motor with new preliminary specs and it went through great. Your tips about CA are spot on. I can do some testing. Grin just responded this morning as well and asking me to look at fast and slow over voltage fault values in the baserunner setup. And...

[Faults 12] instantaneous controller overvoltage ???

Baserunner and a new Bafang 1000W Hub motor and I get this error. Conditions when it happens: 1. After Full throttle W/ field weakening amps added OR 2. Whenever I hit the ebrakes It works fine full throttle and otherwise if I dont have field weakening or ever hit the brakes. I previously...

Regen. braking cuts out unpredictably - Settings? Solution?

Did you ever contact Grin or find a solution to this? Thanks

    Simple top speed question guys.

Would love to get experienced with all of this. But for this build I really dont want to run into any unneeded complication I might create for myself. Maybe I'll save this for another build I have that has a much less of an investment involved. Appreciate all the info here. Definitely on course...

    Simple top speed question guys.

We do have one in town that's really awesome as well. I'll check them out. This would be the easiest path by far. Thanks for the idea.

    Simple top speed question guys.

Do you happen to know an example of a 5 speed 120mm setup that I can search for? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places but not able to find any cassette set up like that - only IGH.

    Simple top speed question guys.

Yeah, that would be a good idea except for the fact that my drop out is only 120mm... I'd be needing to cold set to 135mm which would be my last desperate plan of action. Not aware of any cassette setup under 135mm.

    Simple top speed question guys.

Thanks for the replies... I'd likely be running a 52v 17ah - 30 amp continuous rated battery, so I'll likely dial down whatever controller to 25 amps or so - standard 26" wheel. It's gonna be a street cruiser. Sounds like I can get at least a decent 25mph+ cruising speed out of it with a...

    Simple top speed question guys.

What top speed can I expect from the various mid drive motor makers if I have a single speed rear? Let's say standard 14 or 16 teeth? Maybe comparing a Cyclone mini 2000w vs TSDZ2 for instance... I have a non-Rohloff IGH and expecting it might shred with my build... so I'm planning ahead!

    GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

How is it freewheeling and when you only want pedal power? Any big drag? I assume you can limit amps as customized options within those 3 modes? They have a smaller, lower power / lower cost, X1 Stealth due out in Oct that I want to get.

Need help picking a mid drive for a unique bottom bracket

The build is already tricky enough, so I'm not going to be very picky on most of these points. I'll likely use the motor relatively sparingly and want to be able to freewheel pedal more often as well as comfortable cruising. The hill option would like include some pedal power, so not essential...

Need help picking a mid drive for a unique bottom bracket

Yeah, only obstacle is cold setting the dropout. It would also make it a single speed with no rear brake but I could also add a derailleur and disc brake. GMAC would also provide some level of regen braking too.

Need help picking a mid drive for a unique bottom bracket

I thought about that. But not a fan of front drive at all. The bike is also a bit weird in that it has a right side disc brake. I think I'd rather cold set the rear dropout from 120mm to 135 for a rear hub instead. This was my first plan of action... Would love a gmac in there. Sent from my...

Need help picking a mid drive for a unique bottom bracket

Thanks for your response. You hit on all the points for sure... I'm going to replace the rear hub with a 3 speed that also has an internal drum brake, so I'll at least have a brake lever and ebrake cutoff option as well as a brake. The bike currently has a front disc brake so we're good there...

Need help picking a mid drive for a unique bottom bracket

Hey guys. Trying to decide on a mid drive that will fit properly to my Nirve Cannibal (see bottom bracket in pic). This bike has a 3 speed hub and reverse crank brake that I'm trying to preserve. Bottom bracket has a one piece crank and I assume will need an offset adapter to plug in there...

    Using cordless drill batterys

Sorry for the response to an old thread but I ran across this and had to jump in. I have a few makita LXT batteries and want to do exactly this! Awesome. Where did you find connection boards for the batteries to mount the bike? I cant think of anything apart from tearing apart old broken...
