Newbie question - motors and 9 pin

Mine is also 9 pin, but unfortunately it has a totally different configuration, physically. (The large pins are at top and bottom.) I think mine is the odd one out.

Clutch working backwards after planetary gear assembly swap.

I put the new nylon gears on my old (mirrored) clutch. I did have to sand them a little, as the new gears were thicker. The horrible noise remains, so it was not the gears nor the gear bearings. Maybe the main axle bearing or the clutch. I think I need to replace the whole motor instead.

Such a cruel pitfall: not all 70mm clutches are created equal.

Behold! two 70mm clutches. They look identical. But the slight delta between distances A and B is the giveaway that they are not: The right one is flipped, and thus turns the other way. Of course I only found out after reassembly and testing in the bike. I will now be reusing my old clutch...

Battery between frame and rear wheel.

Maybe the eBikes that came this way were cheap and horrible. I don't see how the configuration itself is either cheap or horrible? I expect it to be expensive to customize those frames, instead. Slapping a battery on the front tube or rear rack is much cheaper.

Battery between frame and rear wheel.

I am a big fan of having the battery between frame and the rear wheel, like pictured below: And especially so if the seat collapses upwards. Is there a name for this configuration? And do manufacturers still use these kind of frames, or have they all shifted towards custom battery cases in...

Clutch working backwards after planetary gear assembly swap.

Thanks, but the clutches (original and replacement) are actually different: the plate is reversed between them. I cannot reverse it and mount the gears on the other side though, because it has a raised surface on one side. Unfortunately, all the clutches on aliexpress, amazon are all reversed...

Clutch working backwards after planetary gear assembly swap.

Ok, I replaced the gear assembly of my 10 year rear hub motor, from the eWind Classic eBike. Unfortunately, the motor is unbranded, and has HLGE2 printed on it. Now the clutch works reversed... so if I apply throttle the motor spins fast, but the wheel does nothing. I naively thought I would...

Hub motor spins, wheel does not?

Thanks, yeah, I had a 3-wire 5-magnet sensor as well. The first XunLiDa controller I bought worked with neither the bike's 4-wire nor the cheap 3-wire. I decided to give it one more try, and bought a second XunLiDa, with different model number (but looked the same.) The second XunLiDa worked...

Hub motor spins, wheel does not?

Thank you so much NCC1941, that helped me so much. It now all makes sense. I managed to reverse the drive direction with the green wire. I tried that before, but I think the trick is to disconnect the green wire after programming, BEFORE you switch off the controller. The wheel now turns on...

Hub motor spins, wheel does not?

So, my eWind Classic's controller broke, and I tried two different XunLiDa brain power replacements. First one worked, although not with PAS, only throttle. The second one has the strangest problem! When I open the throttle, I hear the hub motor spin up! But the wheel does not move! The only...

    XLD Brainpower motor controller XunLiDa

Thank you for sharing! Strangely enough, my XunLiDa only cycles from P0 to P4. I wonder where the missing settings are? I am trying to set the PAS mode. On my controller, I get: DISPLAY: XLD1808N CONTROLLER: KSLU37 P0 31.5 P1 26 P2 045 P3 001 P4 0 Any idea why I only get 5 settings, after...

    XunLiDa Brain Power's pedal sensor.

Thanks, I tried that, but unfortunately, it did not work. No assist when pedaling, either FW or BWD. But the engine does kick in for 1sec or so if I peddle, and then stop peddling altogether. So only assist when I don't peddle, and only for 1 sec or so.

    XunLiDa Brain Power's pedal sensor.

Thanks Hackey, I will try that. It is good to know I can keep the existing sensor. I thought the HALL sensors were in the motor? I guess there are two in my sensor too then?

    XunLiDa Brain Power's pedal sensor.

So my e-Wind (manufacturer out of business) bicycle started acting up, not battery related. Hence, I bought a XunLiDa Brain Power controller + LCD as a replacement part. It looks like this: Note it is similar to another one discussed on this forum...
